  1. This is an oldie but goodies and video should be in Elite wheels owner manual. I've never seen a pair of Elite or Winspace wheels that came true and didn't need to be adjusted regularly.

  2. i believe those are bladed spokes. you'll need some kind of brace to keep the spoke from twisting when you apply force by way of the spoke wrench, most of the time.

  3. Honestly, this is the worst rim trueing video out there. You don't stick anything on the rim, it makes zero sense.

You put the cable tie towards the EDGE of the rim. As soon as you see a bent part – you just go there and 1/4 turn one spoke out, and next spoke to it in. This makes sure the wheel will still be circular, not eliptical.

  4. im so confused. what the hell is this SUPPOSED to do, because the comments seem to be telling this guy it's not doing what it's supposed to

  5. I recognize this product! It's a special TrueTape which is carbon rim friendly and can also be used on aluminium and alloy rims. Compatible with Compagnolo and Shinamo! 50GBP per meter

  6. In i remember when I bought my first brand new rI
M for my ten speed , it was a a rear tire with a 6 gears… i rode into a pot hole and put a little bend in itso i got my spoke weech out and gave the spoke where the vend was a 1/4 turn not knowing exactlyhow to ture a rim having only seen any kind of this once whem my father repaired the front rim that was folded in half ,,even needed to replace 3 of the spockes, in the process so a little bend shouldn't be too difficult if I take time as I, rmight make it worse if I tighten the wrong spokes and I didn't asked any questions , just happy that there was a chance somehow that rim could be used once again as body i knew had ever attempted to true a rim so the impossible was what I expected in the end but when it was done,,,something that only took in total an hour. Maybe,,, ? I don't know .the new aluminum rim had cost $40 back in 1985 and I think the bike shop charged about same to true a rim but I may be wrong,,,I do know I wasn't able to afford that cost but my brakes were limited with the adjustment needed to prevent rubbing of the brakes shoes on the bent rim so I felt I could not make things much worse then it was,,,,,
wrong,,,that quarter turn on the only spoke I touched was under so much tension that the spoke broke,,,instantly allowing the ex stream tension all the other spokes were under to take over and twisted the rim in several directions at once that ir looked worse then when my other rim was folded in half with 3 broken spokes . ,,, ,,, ,,,so I have to wonder since there's no instructions,,,warnings about what not to do ,,,step by step instructions….. how many people end up destroying their rims watching videos like this or what

  7. This is a slippery, slippery slope and you can end up with a much bigger problem – as attempted on a bargain Schwinn hybrid bike which came badly aligned!

  8. For the love of god. Those bladed spokes are twisted…..use a brace. You can see when the wheel is spun the blades are facing in all kinds of directions.

  9. I’m a bike mechanic and I find it really surprising how many people can’t figure out physics in real time or how things work without having it explained to them.

It’s really simple actually. There’s spokes on each side of the hub and each side pulls and pushes on the other. Make sure they’re all tight on the drive side and then adjust them from there.
