dila hello mate we’ve walked over to the other side we have like that but it’s tomorrow not today definitely not yesterday no so the first piece of we need to concentrate on is this oh because it broke oh not what I said go on then drop the drop the valve oh no well I was running second in the first race so you were flying and then and then I came home let go and then I came home pretty much so this is the one that’s off to PCR yeah cal’s going to finish taking this out now and then deliver it to dear Paul uh it’s literally just a clutch cable after right okay well we’ll do that now then so bloom on the side please dear boy uh you got that earth cable out you got my IMU out right so you got the battery cable undone mhm yeah so what you need to do now is pull the boot back off the start motor here is that right so that Oh right yeah you’re taking lots of photos you know where everything goes nope well that’s very unprofessional no I am right mate uh take that 10 mil off that starter cable please that one there’s nothing under it starter bolt so it’s just the clutch bolt uh so we’ll cut the I think out we won’t even adjust it we’ll just take the side bracket off yeah Dav jump over here i’ll show you right mate you need to get that you’ve got a battery disconnected haven’t you where’s the battery screw so we’ve noted bike content for a while have we really no cuz normally bikes are great bikes don’t break but this week this has decided to go all poppy ping on me when was the last time you had a really Well it was last year but it’s cuz I ride it so well you got magnet you were showing it who’s boss and it decided to uh show me who was boss yeah it gave me some constructive feedback i had some constructive feedback when I got home last night did you about did you get the throttle under there i didn’t what did you do i took the little niblies out inside the Uh out of what as in Do you take off inside the throttle bodies as in the Yeah yeah yeah you took off the throttle bodies yeah that’s right that’s okay so what you would have done is is not done any of that you just would have taken off the throttle bodies and left that on yeah yeah um why is it two why is what was there two or have I just magnetically found something down there no yeah there’s usually two yeah stop it backing off so you run one on run it tight and then run the second one on yeah so that’s start cable that’s okay all right uh breather hose can come off Cal that’s the brake line that’s the clutch switch yeah it’s pretty much ready to come out yeah the only thing I want to do is obviously this is number two this was the new coil wasn’t it pass i thought it was number three no it was that one go it was that one you go that way so we drop this out right which way do you count what which way do you So which one’s one that one’s one i always go one i always go one from timing chain so one two three four right we need to Can you put the sprocket back in the back please and put the spindle in don’t use your sleeves put gloves on what where does your dirty washing go in my washing machine honestly we’ve drained oil out of it no not yet right got to drain oil out of it in a minute all right leave the filter on but just drain the oil out put a plug put the original plug and washer back on cuz if you give Lewis an engine that’s full of oil he’ll ring me up and shout at me cuz you don’t do that right let’s get this gear lever out the way can you hold that hold what mate yeah you want to I’m going to come on i should be able to do it by fingers and I don’t know now the radiator’s out the way we have to go and get a camera in a minute let’s drop the left hand that’s the brand new one right right so let’s have that one put it back in put it in your pot and put that one back in please or actually leave it out in a minute where’s my camera where’s the camera that is the next question okay no that’s all right it’s m colors all right nothing on the plug it shouldn’t be to be fair all right cool no gloves [ __ ] huh gloves wear gloves you haven’t got no gloves on i’m not draining oil out of an engine i don’t even want to look no it’s broken snapped it off a stem look you see it’s actually broken it off a off the stem snapped it off a stem so is that worse than expected it’s just all bad dab on it it’s a £4,000 cylinder head so hopefully it’s not damaged that right so that’s what the valve did to the top of the piston right it says two inlet valves look yep so remember exhaust this is why exhaust the piston chases the exhaust valve yeah d do I want to look [Music] I think I think I’m all right ballwise there’s one valve nope nope nope oh there’s a big chunks there yep you caught it on camera didn’t you i think I got some of it yeah so it’s dropped the valve it’s dropped an exhaust valve so remember your piston your piston chases your exhaust valve so it’s either pinched jumped the rocket jumped a collet or shim or it the clearance has just closed up and it’s clipped the exhaust valve snapped it off turned it upside down and punched the living daylights out of the cylinder wall the piston and wedged it sideways in the head couldn’t really have gone any worse could it no so at the minute the risk is metal doesn’t compress so now you’ve always got to worry that even if we have it apart and put bearings in it has it flat spotted the crank or is it cuz you you just when you whack a piston into the crank you can do damage whether I can save my head so I need new rods new pistons new crank cases um I don’t know what the head’s like i don’t know if it’s wet the cam um all I know is it’s broken and I don’t want to play anymore uh GYTR engine is like seven grand seven grand and then you’ve obviously got a I mean is that ready to race or is that you yeah i don’t think it’s a full super sport engine so I don’t think it’s cammed with a trick head yeah um so if my head’s in good order I could just put that on there but And this this isn’t manufactured you’ve literally just discovered this while we’ve done our work I knew it broke i didn’t know how it broke so H Yeah go racing they said it’ll be fun yes you and me both in a poor man’s club mate yeah welcome to No Engine Club what would you reckon that’s going to cost well new engine 7 but it’s nowhere near the spec of this one okay and then we got to spend everything else to get it to that spec when’s the next race end of June so along I need to make a decision this week now use that one mhm use that one it doesn’t go in a championship i mean I’m I’m [ __ ] anyway so worst case is it is that one but this any of your mates sell an engine h I do know someone selling a selling a trick motor but it’ll need a refresh so we’ll just have to look into that is it not worth getting that and just It might be it for Well it might be if it’s Yeah if you refresh it it’ be fine bank set of springs valves in it because you don’t take the risk rod bearings rings or or whatever then uh could we go and talk about something else now yeah I think that’s probably best hey we only do it for a bit of fun don’t we some of that oh that is worse than I thought yours is like my kitchen table crank cases are should we take the f out hey no there’ll be no metal in it be no metal in it there wasn’t much no no no oil’s mint there won’t be it’s not done a bearing it’s just dropped valve properly properly properly i’ve never dropped the valve drop the valve never dropped the valve how many did you burn up in here racing three i’ve always done rod bars my my S000 done a rod bearing my R six super sport back in the day done a rod baron and I’m not silly on downshifts either then oh well it is what it is it is what it is at least you got some enjoyment out of it well I didn’t i drove home and then swept the motor away hold on hold on you forgot about the two championships you won on yeah I know i don’t want to be happy at the minute all right i want to be miserable don’t take that away from me man sad how many miles have you done on this moment um I don’t think too much i don’t think too much that was a brand new set of valves and springs refresh started last year didn’t we yeah but just it’s always a way in it you It It’s It was four laps too much cuz it was mint before that right next anyway I got to rebuild Zack Corduroy Super Sport engine so that’s refresh that’s a refresh cuz that’s done mileage matt’s got my R8 in bits okay let’s go and have a look at the R8 so um so you’ve drained oil haven’t you uh we got a bumper to put back on exhaust to put back on we had a water leak which was the front hose this down here was there any fuel in it nothing came out all right no fuel leak whe it’s got like a No no no flaps it’s just empty uh then we put carbon roll bar in it so Matt’s doing that at the minute um so you’ve got an Acraovich to go on this i’ve spotted uh hopefully yeah oh okay hopefully put that on um and then set of track pads yeah so it was Ian Kent’s exhaust that we took off and I had a customer buying it uh and then I told Ian that um I had a customer go in and then customer stitch me up so I’ve I’ve looked after Ian and had it so I’ll put it on this and then I’ll sell it um or whatever i don’t know we’ll put it on for this i have got a stock one to go on it but and this got the seats to go in as well yeah i got my seats so at the minute now Matt’s just trying to get the mechanical stuff underneath done so we’ll do brake pads front and rear cuz I got RSC’s to go on it we got brake lines to go on it uh front is pretty much just a bumper isn’t it yeah it’s nearly literally if I can get the front end done by like 5 and try to get the rear built up tonight so we’re in a place um so that’s not too bad cuz I ideally I need to go wheel alignment tomorrow so seats is literally just bolt the seats in that really pretty much put the interior back together i don’t think that’s too much um that we can just get your driver seat and just get it down to alignment you can mess around with that more or so uh and then to top it all off like we sold half the spaces for Thursday and it’s supposed to piss down anyway so we’ll see you never know it literally when it rains it pours yeah yeah so quite literally it might be all right you don’t know you never know we’ll see but right I’ve had days where it said it’s going to be lovely and it’s done it’s time kuma’s got its own little microclimate it seems is it oh and then this is a gear box that’s been delivered uh so this is um out of a car that used to be Chris’s at Auto Talks so this is an AMS built box or something um but it’s lost driving first so we need to have a look it’s got Dodson bits on it yeah it’s got some Dodson bits on it um a lot of goodies in it yeah it’s got stub shafts it’s got a clutch um it’s supposed to have full gear kit in it um it’s got this Ali sump cover on it it’s got Ali diff cover on it or the billet diff and so yeah just need to pull it to bits and see what’s up with it okay cuz he’s lost driving excuse me lost driving first it will go into reverse but it won’t go into first so we’ll have a look but but he said he didn’t try second did he no he didn’t run it up enough to get it see if second would go in so yeah everyone can enjoy my misery hopefully other people have got broken things been a quite a horrible year this has been brute this is just absolutely brutal never mind right put something in the comments to cheer me up yes be nice i don’t know what the comments everyone’s like “Oh yeah but leash didn’t crash.” Yeah not even my Cadwell crash was going to be as expensive as this but then you know you never want to hope for a crash but No no yeah so what am I now i’m a long way behind now championship’s done really yeah mate it’s 80 odd points in it even if he just finishes behind me in every race there’s not enough rounds for him to especially if you’re not old and then like I you know I like Will i’m not going to sit here and hope that he has a DNF so I can That’s not how I do it that’s not racing i want to beat him but Okay right we’ll have a think lewis said it so it’ll go up to Paul’s PCR pull it to bits and we just make a plan i’ll see what I can gather together yep um it’s not a stock engine that’s the problem it’s got a trick head on it it’s got trick cams so oh well we see what’s what right let’s see how busy they are cuz it might end up us building a bloody engine but I don’t know see what’s what black got enough to do honestly right i’m going have a cup of tea be nice boop

I feel your pain. My 4 series required a new Servotronic rack last week. Surprised it failed on a 2019 23k mile 440i. £3981+ vat for a new rack, plus labour etc I took it to Lovett's Swindon. Fortunately extended warranty, covered it. But its premature failure still sucks.

damn!! I feel your pain!! My 05 ZX10R dropped a valve several months back on cylinder 3 as well LOL Lucky for me I have a full spare engine I bought years ago for parts for $200 LOL has a spun bearing. Though initially thought it was just a bent valve, pulled the head to swap it and found out it dropped, destroyed the valve, head, piston, and I ended up pulling that rod and just swapping the piston and head. No cylinder damage at all which I got stupid lucky with, I was able to just drop the oil pain, and swap it without engine removal and splitting the cases. Been good for the last several months of daily riding LOL It sucked more cause it was a ported head too, it was my first big failure on this bike and it has 73,000 miles of hard street riding. I know the way I fixed it wasn't proper but money is tight for me so I did what I had to
fully understand the distress . Try to keep it real ,———- Waiting for the knock on your door to evict you from your house, waiting for the test results from the hospital , etc etc etc. .
On the plus side the c6 rs6 keep rolling in 😜
Should have an engine fund, every hour/race you run put a few quid aside. Fill the engine fund then every hour over is a bonus. They do it in aviation, engines are however crazy expensive..
