This weekend we managed to get booked into Lady Margaret’s Chirk Castle CAMC site nr Wrexham on the Welsh Border, a perfect location on the canal which we cycled along to #llangollen passing over the longest & highest aqueduct in the world, the #pontycysyllteaqueduct , a world heritage site.

In the opposite direction is the chirk tunnel (don’t forget a torch!) Which brings you out to the Chirk Viaduct, another Thomas Telford engineering wonder.

Our hook up lead was broken when we first arrived but this was soon fixed with the help from the friendly wardens. This site is fully refurbished and has a new secure gate at the bottom direct to the village (just don’t forget to ask for the code like I did! Due to the fast anpr self check in) .

Chirk also has a train station, shop, pubs, cafes, and the National Trust Chirk Castle with hundreds of acre of grounds to explore, and is right on #offasdyke .

After all that biking the #mirider had just enough charge left to deliver the recycling!
