Completed a light-loaded test run on my Long Haul Trucker. I can’t believe the smooth ride. I’m in love with this bike. Just 30 pounds of gear for 25 miles, but it felt fantastic. Next week I’ll gear up and do an overnighter as I prep for my first short tour next month. Going to tackle the C&O canal from DC to Cumberland, MD. Is there a tradition with naming touring bikes? I’m definitely naming my steed for the next 10k miles but I’m new to touring so I don’t know if I’m supposed to name it before or after my first tour!
P.S. I don’t actually hate the cantilever brakes as much as I thought once they were properly adjusted.
