Join me on a stunning 60km cycling tour through Saxony, Germany, where I explore beautiful landscapes, peaceful trails, and two historical castles — Schloss Machern and Schloss Brandis. This is the perfect route for anyone who loves slow travel, bikepacking adventures, and discovering hidden gems in Germany.
In this travel vlog, I ride from Leipzig through small towns and lush countryside to reach the elegant Machern Castle and its scenic park. Along the way, I enjoy quiet bike paths, charming villages, and peaceful natural moments — the essence of slow travel by bike. Unfortunately, my visit to Brandis Castle was cut short due to a private event, but the journey is still packed with inspiring views and authentic travel vibes.
This video is perfect for fans of cycling vlogs, castle travel in Germany, biking routes near Leipzig, and anyone curious about off-the-beaten-path Europe. Whether you love travel, cycling, or slow exploration, this tour will inspire your next adventure.

The wind isn’t getting any better. And it’s going up the [Music] hill. For this time, I wanted to ride about 80 km for the first time in my life on a bike. Like my other tours, it started in the city center of Leipik. But this time I drove past the monument of the battles, one of Leipek’s famous [Music] sites. Hello and welcome to another video. So, I’m already on my bike and cycled a few kilometers. I’m on my way to some castles and I thought I’ll take you with me. And today’s video is also some kind of a testing video because I bought some new cycling clothes and I’m testing them out, especially a special trousers. I’m interested if they’re really good, if they’re helping against pain or if they don’t help for that. So, let’s see. So, I need to change my navigation system real quick. I’ll put it on this mobile phone because my battery is quite low already. So, I’m going to change that real quick and then I’ll be back on the road. Need to update the app. So, while it’s updating, I’m going to show you the trousers real quick. So, I do have some little pockets in here. And as you might see, I have some extra material in the butt area. Don’t know if you were able to see it, but yeah. So, this is a special trousers for cycling. And I also bought some gloves. And so far, I’m quite impressed. Nothing is hurting. Nothing is rubbing against my skin. Although it feels like uh I’m wearing some diapers, but if it helps, I don’t care. By the way, everyone makes it look so easy while cycling, even though they’re going uphill. But let me tell you guys, it’s exhausting. Especially when you have to fight against the wind going uphill. It’s not easy. It really isn’t. Oh god, why am I doing this? The wind isn’t getting any better. [Music] [Music] Luckily, the area around Liipek and in Lipk isn’t filled with hills and mountains, so it’s quite flat. Therefore, I’m lucky today because I don’t think Oh yeah, I need to check out where I have to go. But yeah, luckily for me, there are not many hills in this area, so I don’t have to fight to get up the hill and against the wind. So, that’s good. [Music] And it’s going up the hill. Made it. [Music] By the way, this is something I really love about those cycling trips. You’re excited when you’re you’re you’re excited when you made it up that hill. You’re excited when it’s going downhill again because you can relax your legs a bit and you’re able to enjoy nature. It’s just so nice to be outside and have a little adventure. Finally, I’m on the road for cyclists. [Music] [Music] Guys, it’s super nice. The sun came out just a few minutes ago. And I know my mood is quite jumpy today, but it is super nice to have some sun shining on you. The mood is getting better and better. And I’m also almost at my next viewing point, site, whatever you want to call it. It is actually a castle where you can have your wedding in, I think. But yeah, I’ve never been there. And so I’m going to take you with me and when I’ll get there, I’ll tell you a bit more about this place. So this is the castle I was talking about and right next to it and behind it is a small park where you find some kind of pyramid and something else. And we’ll also have a look at that. But for now, I’m just doing a small break cleaning my nose and then I’ll tell you a bit more about this beautiful castle. And it was built as a moed castle. The oldest part were built in the 16th century and today it is used as a wedding castle. So you can actually have your wedding here. Unfortunately, I had some camera issues while driving through this beautiful park, so I wasn’t able to film everything, but I tried to take some funny photos for you guys. Let me know which one you like the most. [Music] So, I’m on my way to my next viewing point or next site. And I decided to cut this trip a bit shorter because it’s getting quite late and I my and my husband and I have some plans for tonight. I need to cut it a bit short because otherwise I would be getting in a bit of time trouble and therefore I won’t be able to make the 80 km today. But hopefully I’m able to do them on my next bicycle trip. [Music] Right behind me, uh yeah, right behind me is the castle of Ramnes or Brandis. And unfortunately, I’m not able to get into the castle or in the park of the castle because it’s closed. I think they’re um preparing for an event which might take place tomorrow. It looks like it is some kind of wedding or birthday or other event. They’ve had they have some big tents in the park area and there is nowhere I can get in. Yeah, all the doors are closed. So, unfortunately, I’m not able to get into the castle, but I’m trying to get a peekaboo for you. So, those little white things you can see there are the tents I was talking about, and I can’t get any nearer to them, unfortunately. But yeah, well, but nevertheless, let’s go back on the bike. I’m still fighting against the wind, but that’s okay. I’ll just have to drive 16 kilometers to be home again. And I would love to use this time to give you an actual review of the clothes. So the jacket and the uh top are trico are very good. Uh the trousers are also nice. But I have to say after 2 and 1/2 hours on the bike I’ll getting to feel my butt and the trousers normally should hold the pain away for 5 hours. Well, I would say they didn’t pass the test for that, [Applause] but they’re more helpful than having no trousers with any sort of extra material, so it’s fine. And yeah, my butt isn’t hurting that bad. So, they’re I think they’re okay, but yeah, I won’t say they’re the best trousers. [Music] [Music] After stopping at the castle in Brandice, I went on my way back home. I stopped another time to drink some water and stretch my body. I can tell you my butt and my legs were hurting a bit and the stretching felt amazing. [Music] [Music] After my small break, I reached Leipek very fast. There was a lot of traffic, which is why I didn’t film that much so I could concentrate on driving. Nevertheless, I hope you like this video and I will see you again in my next one. Bye. [Music]
