My first Brompton – picked it up second hand and set to work trying to make it lighter, didn’t quite get sub 8kg, probably won’t worry too much. Choosing deeper 38mm wheels rather than a 25mm option was absolutely unnecessary but does look great 😅
Chainring is an AeroCoach ARC 54t 107bcd, funnily enough getting the crank on there didn’t really save much (about 30-40g) over the alu stock crank, mainly because the spider on the SRAM cranks is quite heavy. I filed down the preload adjuster on the non drive side, added 1 BB spacer to the BSA DUB threaded BB on the drive side between the shell and the cup, used a 2mm DUB spacer on the axle on the drive side and clearance was absolutely fine.
First proper ride tomorrow!
