We finally got some time just for ourselves, so we decided to hike up to Kékestető — together, just the two of us.
Before heading out with the kids later this year, we wanted to test our gear, so this turned into a short camping hiking adventure.
We spent 4 days in the tent, with cold nights and some rain in the forecast. But during the hike itself, the weather turned out to be perfect.
Along the way, we had a peaceful forest trail, soft sunshine, and that kind of silence you only find deep in nature.
It was a true nature peaceful escape.
As a surprise, we ran into the second stage of the Tour de Hongrie — the finish line was at the summit that day, and we saw the cyclists from the woods on our way down.
This wasn’t just about reaching the top. It felt like a simple, honest mountain hiking trip.
Just walking, noticing small things, and enjoying being outside.

  1. We finally got some time just for us.
Four days camping, one goal: climb Kékestető.
Cold nights, warm sleeping bags, and a peaceful trail through spring forests.
We even caught the Tour de Hongrie riders on the way down — totally unexpected.
Have you ever had a trip that felt exactly right from the first step?
