Guy’s back on the Isle of Man | Guy Martin

In Guy’s Proper Jobs, Guy will become a trawler deckhand (something Grimsby lad Guy is keen to learn more about), getting to grips with nature as a wildlife warden on the remote Calf of Man island, training to become a firefighter in some scarily real environments, and becoming part of the dog mountain rescue team tackling dangerous terrain as a mountain rescue guide.

[Music] here we are Isa man funny old place right it’s not part of the United Kingdom it’s not part of Great Britain but it is part of the British Isles and what that means is it can have its own government when it’s got its own government it can make its own laws and when it can make its own laws it can make things like this happen which is racing motorbikes around the road going on here for years and that’s what this is here this is the start line for the Alam Man TT I’m going to take you for a quick lap cuz I’ve got a bit of story to tell you about how this lines up our next project you see all right big man sound mate keep it going boy watch where you’re going guy raced at the world famous aisle of Mante for for 13 years he hasn’t been back since 2017 boy youve been motoring here probably doing 200 mile an hour or so you’d always smell the wild garlic coming through here he was fast careful not to click your shoulder on that wall as you going through there and utterly Fearless I think I came off here which looked dead spectacular cuz the bite went up in a ball of flames and he was always a fan favorite to be honest I couldn’t tell you where we are now but the job guys here to do couldn’t be further from all that speed and noise so that racing Caper that was busy busy people pressure all of that and I I’m not a big fan of any of those things I I like riding me bike but I don’t like all the other bits that come with it I thought used to do me in a few mates we’ always come down here CU she’s right on the south edge of the AL man right we sit and drink tea then I sit and look at that place I was always fascinated what goes on there what’s all that about and it turns out it’s the C for man it’s a Mile Square Nature Reserve there’s no Mains electric there’s no Mains water no Central eating no shops but despite that three or four people live on there right they’re called the wardens done a bit of research I thought I like the sound of that anyway we’ve got it w that they’re going to let me go on there and give those wardens a bit of an amp and so guys heading for a quiet life and a week working off grid as guardian of a wild Island a proper job
