The BEST All Rounder Electric Bike AND Beautiful Engwe E26 Review

This is the Engwe E26 Electric bike. It’s a gorgeous ebike but not only that it’s fast, comfortable, great up hills AND has great utility. I think the Engwe E26 is the perfect all rounder ebike.

Hello and welcome to Andy’s Cornish Creations. A review of the Enu E26 eBike, kindly sent to me from Enu. I’m uh zipping through the unboxing fairly fast, but uh as you can see here, it’s packaged really well. And uh despite the uh the box having a few dings in it, the um the packaging has kept everything nicely intact. One thing I will point out, just be careful taking the uh everything’s held together with zip ties. Um just be careful cuz the zip ties are the same color as uh some of the cables. So uh you uh you just want to double double check that the uh that they are zip ties that you’re cutting and not the cable. The picturein picture here is uh the Anguay um assembly video. Uh and you can get this on the uh Enu website and uh there’s a list of the um of the pieces in the box. Uh it does come with a tool kit and everything that you need uh to assemble the bike. So, I’m pretty much uh I’ve got the uh my tablet in the background there, and I’m following the instructions um just to make sure that everything’s the uh the right way round and in the correct positions and with the particularly with like little washers and things like that being in the right position for it to work prop. This is the uh gem blue uh step through version of the bike. They do one with a uh with a bar across as well. And they do a uh bumblebee yellow and a uh I think it’s either black or gray. But uh all the colors are are really nice. But I uh I do like this one. It really stands out. So, I’m just working my way through, checking the video at all times. You see there, the video shows you the the position of the uh washers and things just to make sure that you get everything in the right place. And if you follow it, you can’t really go wrong. I I did put some packings underneath the handlebars when I turned it upside down to uh to protect the uh LCD display and some of the um and the uh Shimano gear shift. It is a bit of a lump to turn over, so just be careful. But uh yes, it uh it really does look uh like a really substantial bike and uh I think it pretty much tackle anything that that you could throw at it. It does of course come with the uh charger as well uh uh which comes with the bike but the battery comes separate. Just putting the uh tail light on. Just check on the video. Make sure I’ve done everything. Okay. So, here we have it. The Enu E26 eBike. It’s a lovely color. Love the color. It’s the finish on it is really spoton and the build quality is uh is great. Um I’ll give you a few facts about it. It’s got a aluminum alloy uh body. Um the motor is a 250 W brushless motor uh um in the uh hub there. Um the torque is 70 Newton meters. Uh the battery which is just just here. Um and that releases uh you can release that with the key in just in there and that pops straight out. Um it’s a 48vt 60 amp hour um internal lithium ion battery. The tires, they’re really chunky tires. Um are 26 in x 4 in tires and they’d be great for uh for sort of off-road and like this on gravel and stuff. The maximum speed is uh yeah 25 kilometers per hour uh which is about 15.5 miles an hour which is the um the UK UK legal limit but you can do a bit of jiggory pokery and um and change it in the settings and you can actually make it work on this uh on this throttle gear. Um, and you can go up to 30 m an hour uh with that, but uh in the UK you can only do it on private roads. Um, the maximum mileage is 140 km. I’m guessing they’ve tested that probably on a track where it’s perfectly flat and no wind or anything like that, but uh but it’ll go a fair old distance. Uh the battery charging time is um 5 and a half to 6 hours. Um the maximum climbing uh angle is 30° um which is a fairly uh fairly steep hill. The um the brakes are um disc brakes. You can see there at the back there and at the front. Let’s give you a closer look. And they are uh eight 180 mm uh hydraulic disc brakes as well. So, you’ve got plenty of stopping power there. The um the weight of the bike is 34.5 kilos kilogram. Uh, so it’s fairly heavy, but uh, as I said before, um, when you’re on it, you don’t notice that, especially with the power assist, but even in first gear, uh, and second gear, uh, you can ride it quite easily on the flat. Um, the, uh, LCD display, you switch it on with a button underneath there. Just hold it down and your display comes up. Hopefully you can see that. Okay. Um, got your uh your battery and it came came fully charged. The battery actually came um separately um in the post and it was fully charged when it arrived. Um so you’ve got your kilometers per hour. Uh you’ve got your your um power assist mode. And if you use the plus and minus uh the plus to take it power assist 1 2 3 4 and five and then use the minus button to take it back down one and not and then um the mode uh go from trip to odometer um max not sure what that one is max kilometers per hour, average, mileage, whatever. Uh um and then we’ve got ah yes, we’ve got button button on the side there, which is the uh I get round here, which is the headlight. And it is a it’s a nice powerful headlight. And uh and also at the rear it’s got a rear light which is nice and bright as well. And uh and also reach it’s got the um it’s got the brake light as well which is really nice and handy. And the brake light comes on even when the light’s not on which is good. Just turn that off. Um the suspension um on the on the front forks uh you can uh lock it on or open it and you’ve got a good travel on the suspension. You got nice mud guards that’s going to keep you clear. You’ve got the reflectors which is great. Uh nice sturdy um metal um pedals. and the uh and the Shimano um is it seven sevenspeed gear uh Shimano Tora. So the good it’s a good um gear system. The uh the front is adjustable as well. You can you can turn that up and down um and and then adjust this um that way and uh forward and back. So um so plenty adjustment on the on the uh on the handlebars. Um yeah, the uh Shimano gears. Um click it with that button to go up the gears and this one takes it back down. Nice and simple. Uh you’ve got your throttle there for if you want to go if you want to um be uh off road on private land. Um the seat stem has got um some built-in um suspension and the uh rack at the back. The luggage rack is a really substantial uh piece of kit. It says 25 kilos max. Um, this this is strong enough to take more than that, but they’ve got to they’ve got to be careful. And uh it’s really it’s really really strong. That is um yeah, I think that just about uh just about covers it. We just try it. Uh let’s pop it in first gear and we’ll just try it without um assist to start with. [Applause] It’s in second gear now. Surprisingly surprisingly easy to pedal in first. Avoid the dog. And uh yeah. Yeah, it says uh it’s quite easy. I thought because it’s a heavy bike, no getting away from that. Uh but uh but actually you could pedal this without any problem. But it’s an electric bike, so we’ll put it on assist one. Wha straight away. [Applause] One turn of the wheel and yes, it really kicks in. Put it on [Applause] two. [Applause] Yes. Try and get control. Yeah. Straight up to 10 kilometers. We’re on [Applause] three. Yeah. Straight up to 14, 15, 16 [Applause] kilometers. Five. That [Applause] is pretty [Applause] cool. Ah, that’s only in That’s only in gear one. Hopefully you can see this is quite a quite a steep gradient down here. Do a brake check. Yeah, they’re pretty good. It’s a little bit wet rain this morning. You all right? Put some assist on. Heat. Heat. put it up to number five and it’s really taken over. Yeah, this is effortless. Just started to come down to two gear two and it’s easy again. Do a little turn. Really easy to maneuver. It’s comfortable. Heat. Heat. Right. This this hill is is very steep. I’ve got it on assist five in fifth gear. I’m going to drop it down to fourth, third, second, and first. see how it goes. At the moment, it’s quite easy. But yes, yeah, that is easy. I’ve only been on one other bike and it was a bit harder than that. So, that’s uh that’s nice to know. And get up a hill. One thing I didn’t uh mention as well was the uh there’s a cute little uh bell uh that comes with it just to let anybody know that you’re coming. And uh and just to show you about the um about the battery access. Uh pop the key in, turn it, and the battery comes out. Really easy. Click it in. Oops. Click it in. and uh and take key out. Yes, there we go. And the uh just show you that again. The um the seat uh lifts and uh and locks nice and firm. Okay. Well, that’s about it. Um, I’ve um I’d just like to thank uh Enu for sending me this uh bike, the Enu E 26 ebike. And um I’m really impressed with it and uh and I love it. I love the color. I love the build quality and uh the chunky tires and uh the fact that you can go a bit off-road with it and it’s got enough power to get you up the hills. Um I can’t see anything um that I don’t like about it. Um it’s a um yeah, it’s a really good it’s a really good substantial bike and I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with this. Um, I’m a bit new to the, uh, ebike scene. Uh, I’ve, um, I’ve done one ebike review and, um, and this is the second, so I’m learning all the terminology and, uh, what have you. U, but hopefully I might be able to do a few more. And, um, certainly with this bike, I’m going to be, uh, that’s my foot. Uh, I’m going to be taking it out on the uh on the road or off road um on a trail or something like that uh on the on the next video and um and going a bit further with it. This was just a an unboxing and a test and uh so far I’m very impressed and we’ll see what it’s like on on a good run. Uh that’ll be coming up. Um, if you want to see that, if you uh if you’re not a subscriber, you uh you could subscribe to my channel. It doesn’t cost anything. Uh just click on the subscribe button and then click on the bell and uh and that will um and you it will notify you when the next video comes up. Um and also any any of my other videos on my uh woodturning channel, which is what I do predominantly. Um there’s plenty of videos there to look at as well. Um and it uh and it all all helps to uh keep my channel growing. Uh and also if you could um share uh especially this um about this bike and uh and leave a comment, I’d be interested to hear what you say uh to help me uh with future videos. Um, I think that’s about it. Um, I’ll I I’ll hopefully see you in uh in a week or two uh with the uh with the next video. And uh for now, my name’s Andy Paramar. This is Andy’s Cornish Creations testing the Enu E26 eBike. Uh it’s bank holiday weekend, so you have a good one and I’ll see you on the next video. Thanks a lot. Goodbye.

  1. Very impressive ebike, Andy and well reviewed. I'm sure you are going to enjoy it! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your area as you explore the capabilities of this bike! I'm so glad it has a throttle! Do you know anything about how or if the cops (bobbies or whatever you call them over there) check whether or not you are using a throttle? I guess if they see you moving without peddling they will lock you right up! LOL! Good job, buddy! 😊
    Phil

  2. Looks like it is very easy to assemble. The wide tires make a smooth ride. I would prefer the bumble bee yellow, a little flashier. Great Video Andy.🙂

  3. Looks like a really sturdy piece of kit. I like the sound of the bumble bee yellow version. Might even be an alternative to my mobility scooter!

  4. Your excellent review certainly sells it Andy but it's definitely out of my price range. I assume such a bike doesn't need road tax but should it have insurance in case of accidents? Do you have any idea of the battery life and replacement cost? Are there any ways to immobilise the bike to discourage theft? (It looks kinda' pinchable to me.)
Well, despite my misgivings I'm sure a lot of folks will have fun with these bikes – if I was in the market this would definitely persuade me to check this make. Thanks Andy, I enjoyed the trip down the lanes of your neighbourhood!

  5. Hey Andy, how cool is that!!! Now that is exactly the kind of e-bike that I was picturing for you, and not just because the colour goes beautifully with the blue walls in the background 👍🏻😉😂 Now all you need is a helmet and a basket for Ivy and off you go, the whole household or nearly flying low over the green pastures of the Cornish countryside 😎 Next bike is for your Dad 👍🏻 What fun 😂 Hope you had a really cool long bank holiday weekend 😎 Careful with the speed 🙏🏻 Have a great week, Andy, byeee 👋🏻😉👋🏻 Jude
