I went on a ride towards the Wash, the large bay and estuary on the east coast of England. This took me from Stamford to Gedney Drove End, through the Lincolnshire Fens via Spalding, Moulton and Holbeach.
I spent one night at Home Farm Camping near Holbeach.

[Music] What I want to do today is see if I can reach the wash. Um so cycling from Stamford uh by uh uh deeping and spoiling through the fence towards get drove end. Um that’s my aim. Uh let’s see how far I get. The wash is a large natural bay, large estary system. The river Wellland which also flows through Stamford and then Spalding has its outflow there. And I wanted to go to a place called Getney Drove End. Um why? Not entirely sure, but I was intrigued by seeing it on the um on the map even in the um word atlas. Heat. [Music] [Music] So, I’ve just made it out of spoiling. Uh, it’s really nice. The weather’s changed. Uh, it’s really just dreary, gray, drizzly this morning. Quite cold. Another sun out. It’s a bit windy. Um, and I even see a windmill at the horizon. Lots of cloud. [Music] So, let’s just see where I’ve been. have come from Stamford. Um, Grapefoot, Baston, via tongue end to Spalding and then the B1165 and I think I took one of those roads to Molton where the windmill was. pole. load. Not Wole. load. whole beach. Now I’m I think I think here and I want to go maybe do this loop Hobie Hobie St. Marks St. Matthew and then get drove end. And that is the wash. [Music] [Music] Okay, so this is it. I’m at the wash. Um, just outside Getney Drove End. I think it’s pretty much low tide, but blue sky, bit windy, uh, and just an endless expanse of marshland, I [Music] guess. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat.
