Can an E-Bike really replace a mountain bike? In this video, we head to the DIMB-BikePark-Rureifel in Hürtgenwald, Germany, to put our E-MTB to the test on proper bikepark trails. From technical MTB descents to jump lines, we wanted to see if an electric mountain bike can handle what a regular downhill / enduro bike does — or maybe even more.

We’re riding everything this German bikepark has to offer and giving our honest thoughts on how the E-bike performs. Whether you’re into mountain biking, enduro, downhill, bikeparks or just curious about eMTBs, this ride might change how you look at e-bikes forever.

  1. For this bikepark I would say yes to the e-bikes. The climb is pretty steep. You can do the asphalt climb which is less steep but it also takes more time. With our manual bikes we did a few full down laps, but ended with just doing the top jumps on repeat.

  2. I get it why e-mtb´s are more and more popular, but i dont want things on my Bike that must be charged (battery for the bike, gearbox or dropper post). I like the simplicity that i can just grab my bike and go out. But when someone overtakes me on the climb i often think: man that must be nice to get more laps in and don´t get exhaustet after 3 or 4 rounds.

  3. Hey guys great riding as always, do you overshoot more on your reign? I find it jumps farther than my propain. i was also wondering about your contols, one of you has the same ridecontrol 3 buttons, small, discreet like mine(white bike) the other has these ugly huge buttons, is that an older model? I went through a set of brake pads and rear tire in 1200km, let me know your degradation.

  4. hey cool, you're back in Simonskall again! I love going there, isn't that the coolest place closest to the Netherlands. So cool to see you guys clear the big jumps, to see what's possible. Amazing how you fly over the big step-up/table-thing after the sharkfin on the blue/red. I just sadly land on top of it 🙂 See you guys there sometimes!

  5. emtb are fun machines, specially in places like this bikepark, hoppenbruch, haniel etc.. where there is no lift to go up. its double the fun!! in performance I kinda like the stable feeling of the bike in the air (jumping) imho. BTW get rid of the Fox shock… they suck 😉
