I found out about the Flume Trail above Sand Harbor State Park, Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it a try with my gravel bike. I climbed up via Tunnel Creek Road. It turned out to be one of the most difficult 3-mile climbs of my life due to the elevation, even with my 36-52T setup. I had to hike quite a bit because of the steepness and the loose, sandy path right by the cliffs—but I made it.
The southern part of the Marlette-Flume Trail was closed due to dam construction. I rode up to the closure point and then descended back down Tunnel Creek Road. It was the best view I've ever experienced on just a 10-mile ride on a bike.
