I'm considering a couple of rear racks from Racktime:
-
Basic 2.0 (https://www.racktime.com/BASIC-2.0/090310-001)
-
LightIt 2.0 (https://www.racktime.com/LIGHTIT-2.0/v092110-001) + ClampIt (https://www.racktime.com/CLAMPIT-70-mm-OE-10-mm/70000-01-10)
I can't quite tell from the photos whether it's possible to attach panniers to these or the spring clamps are wide enough to get in the way and prevent this. Does anyone have experience?
Ideally, I'm looking for a reasonably lightweight and high quality rack with a spring clamp (or the option to add one), which will also take panniers on the main rails (when the clamp is fitted). I'm aware that there are options like the 'tour' versions of some Racktime racks, which have extra rails specifically for attaching panniers. This seems a bit unnecessary though; why not just leave enough room between the clamp and main rails to accommodate pannier attachments? Most likely, I'll rarely use both at the same time. I really just want to be able to attach panniers for the daily commute and then occasionally use the clamp if I need to carry something bulky that won't fit in a pannier or backpack.
Any recommendations for racks that meet these requirements, from any company, would be much appreciated!
