Looking for any route input concerning an upcoming adventure happening at the end of October.
I have an opportunity as a part of a work trip to bike from south central Germany and finish in Milan for my return flight back home to the states. I’m actually starting near Ulm but Munich made the title sound catchier. I’m trying to plan a route, but there are too many route options and different things to see that I’m getting ‘analysis paralyses’. The tentative route I’m looking at doing was provided by a coworker based in Germany.

I like this route just from doing some light googling of the areas it passes through. But I figured it would be worth a shot in case anyone else has other suggestions.
So, general questions are:
– Wondering if I should cut the Switzerland to western Austria leg to spend more time in northern Italy? Is it worth dipping into Switzerland, past Lake Constance (Bodensee), through the Alps in western Austria to Innsbruck? Or make a bee line for the Tyrol region in Italy?
-What are some POIs or regional \ historical highlights between point Ulm and Milan that people recommend I should see?
-Anyone have suggestions for route modification? I’d hate to pass close by something famous and regret not knowing about it until after the trip.
I’ll be leaving Saturday morning, giving myself 5 days to bike plus 1 buffer day in Milan to pack the bike up for the return flight home. I’m looking to average ~120miles per day, so a total route length of ~600miles. Also, due to the potential for colder temps I’m planning on staying in the cheapest hotels\hostels I can find.
