Cycle the battlefields of the First World War with Jeremy Banning: https://cyclingthebattlefields.com/
Come for a cycling trip that’s like no other. Where every mile tells a story of courage, sacrifice, and remembrance. Riding the First World War battlefields is the best way to understand the ground. You feel every rise and fall in the landscape. Travel with friends or family, and I’ll meet you over on the battlefields. There’s no shortage of options, but most newcomers want to cycle around E or the S. We’ll ride around 55 kilometers or 35 miles a day along quiet roads with plenty of stops at military cemeteries and key sites built in, so it’s achievable on any bike. Lunches are either picnics or taken at roadside cafes. Over the years, I’ve guided hundreds of clients using routes I’ve developed that take in the very best of the battlefields, immersing you deep in the history. You’ll learn how the battle unfolded through the stories of soldiers who were there. You may know that a relative served. If so, I might be able to incorporate their stories into our tour. If you fancy coming along for a fantastic experience, then please get in touch. You’ll come for the cycling, but be amazed by the history.
