In this video, I show how I go to work every day here in Ireland — by bike.
From preparing in the early morning to cycling in harsh weather, this is the reality of a Filipino living abroad.
I also briefly share how I got here, what work is like, and how it compares to my job back in the Philippines.
Thanks for watching my simple journey.

[Music] Hey, good morning. Good morning everyone. So, this is my routine every day and right now I’m going to work. So, in my previous videos, I haven’t uh I haven’t shown you yet how I actually go to work every day. And this is it. Now, what I’m wearing right now is a coat actually given by the company because we can’t be sure always of the weather here in Ireland. Sometimes it’s shining and then on the other block, if that’s what if that’s how you say it, it’s raining. So yeah, and I’ve been doing this already for almost 2 years now. Biking always go to work biking. Go home work. Go home from work through biking. And so far everything is okay. It’s just that sometimes whenever it’s raining it’s hard. When it’s freezing, it’s even harder. And sometimes also whenever there’s a strong wind, it’s very hard and dangerous actually. But so far so good. No problem at all. I can do it. This is nothing actually compared to my previous job in the Philippines. very physical right now. Still physical, but not that hard. I wish I could show you all the hills that I’m seeing right now. Anyway, I’m here in Monahan. And for those who do not know, monahan means small hills. That’s why they call it they called it monahan. That’s what it means. So every day we wake up by for me 4:50 something like that. So that by the time of 4:55 to 5:00 I’m already fully awaken and then by that time I cook my own food and eat. So, I mean, if I cook my own food, I’m just hitting it. Actually, not really cooking. But sometimes, yeah, I cook eggs and some noodles. The fastest food that I could make in the morning. But usually, it’s already cooked and then all I have to do is heat it up and then eat it. And then by 5:30 to 5:40 I start packing already and then start biking because biking can take up to 15 minutes 12 minutes to 15 minutes to arrive at the farm. By the way guys, I’m working in a farm here in Ireland. So yeah, so far I love it because that’s also my previous job in the Philippines. The only difference is it’s a lot harder because almost all things are manual. manual, very physical. Lifting heavy things like lift uh lifting the bugs of feeds from one place to another, from building to building actually. And then the [Music] most the most difference. Is that the right curve? The biggest difference is the salary, the pay. So if you work in the Philippines for example, you are going to work for 8 hours to 9 hours. You’ll get paid by maybe 300 pesos from the time of [Music] our from the time of my first employment. So if you convert that into euro 6124 30 that’s about 5 a day while here if you work for 1 hour you can you can exceed that by multiple times already. Yeah. So that’s the huge difference. That’s why whenever I think I’m tired of work here, I’m just going back to my past or previous works and then I feel better again. And not just that, my life has changed a lot since I came here. And I know they know many things have changed because of my fate of going [Music] here. And in fact it’s just by accident accidental seeing of job posting on FB and then trying to apply and then after 2 months or 3 months I think I was called for an interview. I thought before it was a scam, but I’m so glad. Thank God it wasn’t. So yeah, that’s a simple story of how I’m going to work here in Ireland and some uh information on how I prepare and how I got here. Yeah. So I’m now approaching at the farm and I think this is it. and then see you again later. Bye.
