So the first bike is an 80s falcon le tour veloce made from Reynolds CrMo. I've never seen this tubing but I know CrMo to be desirable in retro MTBs and BMXs. It has indexed shifters and is £20. It's also nearly 2 hours away. I prefer the aesthetics overall I think, particularly the chain ring which I'd like to use to make a single speed/fixie.
The second is a Romany, 80s unknown model. It is made from 531 tubing which I believe is generally regarded as better. Lighter? It has cantilever posts and mid fork mounts for a front rack which is objectively better isn't it? I'd like a front rack. It's £80 and under an hour away.
Is one of these bikes far superior to the other. I know virtually nothing about vintage road bikes but would love to ride one. I don't know the size of either bike. Any tips or advice?
