[Music] think the French Riviera is just knees and beaches? Oh, you’re in for a treat. We’re cruising down the coast to show you 10 coastal cities that deserve a spot on your bucket list. Expect colorful old towns, beautiful beaches, famous spots like Monaco and Sanrope, and a few hidden gems you might not have heard of. We’re starting in Monton, right on the Italian border, and finishing big in Marseilles. So, stick with us. You might just find your next favorite escape. Let’s have a quick look at the map first so you get a good idea of where we’re heading today. Like we said, we’ll be taking you from the eastern most city on the French Riviera all the way to Marseilles. Always sticking to the [Music] coast. Montton is probably the most picture perfect out of the 10 with its pastel colored old town rising above the sea. It’s a rather small place, so you can easily explore it on foot. And it’s a super chill discovery since there are really just two areas you’ll want to focus on. the beautiful Otown with its narrow colorful lanes and the beach, pebbly on one side, sandy on the other. And did you know it’s often warmer and sunnier here than in other Riviera towns? That’s thanks to its sheltered spot between the sea and the mountains. Perfect for the lemon trees Monton is famous for and for some of the most stunning gardens on the coast. Speaking of lemons, every February, Monton throws its famous lemon festival, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors with incredible citrus sculptures and parades. Monton’s got a bit of a hidden gem vibe, too. Way less crowded than places like Nice or Monaco, especially outside peak season. It also makes a perfect day trip if you’re based in Nice. Quick and easy by train or car. Next up is Monaco, second smallest country in the world, but it sure knows how to make a big impression. It’s one of those places you either love or hate, but honestly, it’s so unique, you’ve got to experience it at least once in your life. Surrounded by France and the Mediterranean, Monaco is known for its glamour, luxury, and jetet lifestyle, and those highrises crammed between the mountains and the sea. Oh, and it’s also home to the legendary Formula 1 race that zooms right through its streets every year. The head of state, Prince Albert II, and his family live on the palace on what they call the Rocher or rock, which also happens to be Monaco’s charming old town. It’s the perfect spot to start your tour of the principality. From up here, you’ll get amazing views over the rest of Monaco with the main harbor on your right and the FV district on your left. Both are perfect for a bit of yacht spotting. How about visiting the palace? And if you’re around at 11:55 in the morning, catch the daily changing of the guard. Other places you don’t want to miss, the famous oceanographic museum in the old town, the brand new Mara neighborhood built on reclaimed land from the sea, and of course, Monte Carlo, Monica’s most famous district, Nerf’s casino, five-star hotels, and seriously crazy cars. Grab a coffee at Casino Square and enjoy the views. And the best part, Monaco is super easy to reach from knees. It’s only about 20 minutes by train. Just a few kilometers further west, you’ll find one of the prettiest seaside towns on the Kazour. It’s called VR, and it’s famous for its deep natural harbor, La VR. Considered one of the most beautiful bays in the entire Mediterranean, it’s a small place but packed with charm. You’ll mostly be strolling along the waterfront and through the colorful old town with its narrow streets and alleys. Make sure to check out a medieval street dating back to the 14th century. And while you’re here, treat yourself to seaside lunch or an evening drink at one of the many restaurants right along the port. VFR also has a lovely beach, Pl Marinier, right next to the train station. And from there, it’s less than a 10-minute ride to Nice. And here’s another fun fact for you. In 1971, the Rolling Stones went into tax exile right here in VR. Keith Richards rented Villan Kut, a place that still draws fans today, hoping to catch a glimpse to the gate. to get from VFR to our next stop, the capital of the French Riviera. You could actually walk along a stunning coastal path. But let’s stay on track and dive right into the region’s biggest and liveliest city, Nice. The place most people picture when they dream about this coastline. Of course, you’ve got the famous Pad Zong, a seaside boulevard stretching for miles, perfect for walks, bike rides, or just people watching. Just below is the endless Pebbly Beach. Yeah, pebbles, not sand. And the bay is insanely blue water. We love getting lost in the old town or vines. It’s a maze of narrow streets lined with pastel colored houses, buzzing cafes, and little boutiques. If you’re around in the morning, head straight to Kalea. The market’s packed with flowers, fresh produce, and local goodies. And if it’s a Monday, it turns into a huge antique market. One thing you’ve absolutely got to do is climb up to Castle Hill for one of the best views you’ll ever see. Trust us. Forget a full panorama of the bay, the rooftops of the old town, and the port with its candy colored buildings. And if you’re into landmarks, there’s plenty to spot from the legendary Negresa Hotel to Plasma. And of course, you’ve got to grab a selfie at the big I love sign. Hopping over to Anib next. Another place that’s absolutely worth discovering with the charming old town perched on impressive ramparts and the snowcovered Alps as a picture perfect backdrop at least for half the year. We must be love on tea for its many small beautiful beaches all in different settings and for different occasions like the ones along the east facing coast perfect for the morning sun and those on the pan side of town where you’ll catch the best sunsets. Picture on t has divided into three parts. First, there’s a cute little old town with narrow lanes, its famous covered market just opposite the town hall, the Picassa Museum that’s well worth a visit, and of course, its giant harbor, Pervubon. It’s the largest marina in the Mediterranean, packed with mega yachts and sailing boats. Then you’ve got the beautiful Captain Tib, stunning peninsula known for luxury villas, hidden coves, and a fantastic coastal trail. It’s honestly one of the best seaside walks on the cort. And let’s not forget the hotel, one of the world’s most iconic luxury hotels right on the tip of the Cape. And lastly, there’s Jean Lea, the most touristy part of town, buzzing with nightife in the summer and packed with vacationers crowding the beaches and restaurants, where you literally sit with your feet in the sand. Just a few kilometers further west, you’ll come across K, the festival city. Every May, it turns into a celebrity hot spot with red carpets, movie premieres, and giant yards. Even outside of festival time, it’s fun to stop by the famous Bali Festival and snap a selfie on the red carpet steps. Not into celebrity spotting? No problem. Visit K any other time of the year. It’s always perfect for a stroll along the iconic seaside prominadette. No matter the season, you’ll find luxury hotels like the legendary Carlton on one side and trendy restaurants along the beautiful sandy beach on the other. The old port is definitely worth a visit. And from here, a quick ferry ride takes you to the nearby islands. Plus, the old town perched above the port offers beautiful views across all of K. In the mood for some shopping, K is a great spot for that, too. You’ll find luxury brands along the quazette, while Red mixes high street stores with local boutiques. And here’s a little secret. Can is a lot less glitzy than it seems. Behind the glamorous facade, you’ll find laid-back neighborhoods and plenty of casual spots for a lex bite to eat. Next up on our journey is a place we like to call underrated. Want the best of the French Riviera without the crowds? Meet Mondu Laool. Actually, a great spot to base yourself for a cordial visit. This fairly small town is known as the mimosa capital. Especially famous in February when the surrounding hills glow yellow during the mimosa festival. Tucked away between the Mediterranean and the red estell hills. You get to enjoy both small but lovely beaches and the gorgeous natural scenery that’s such an important part of the French Riviera. The coastal path is perfect for easy walks along the rocky shore with unbeatable Mediterranean views. It also takes you right by the chat pool, a medieval castle restored by an American artist couple. You can visit the quirky interior. Stroll through the gardens and snap dramatic CV shots. Just opposite the castle, you’ll find the town center, a tiny, very local feeling neighborhood with a handful of restaurants and shops. No frrills, but totally authentic. [Music] Now that we’ve rounded the Eststerel Mountains, we arrive at two neighboring towns, each with its own vibe. Let’s start with Sarafhel, a charming seaside resort that gained popularity in the 19th century, much like Nice, just on a smaller scale. It features several wide sandy beaches and a sizable port. It’s also a great base for estell hikes and either the perfect starting or finishing point for a road trip around the Red Mountains. Fus on the other hand is larger and much older than Safal. The town is deeply connected to its Roman past. In fact, it’s packed with Roman ruins, even if more so than famous spots like Arl or Neem. Though, to be fair, time and nature haven’t been quite as kind to them here in Frius. The old town, just like the ancient Roman settlement, isn’t directly on the sea. It’s about 2 km inland or roughly a halfhour walk. Right by the sea is the new port of Frius. Check out this giant mural nearby. Then follow the beach promot to reach the port with its unique layout. Next up on our list is Sanrope, probably the French Riviera’s most famous name. Tiny fishing village turned international hot spot. Back in the 1950s, Riit Bardau put Sanrope on the map. And ever since, it’s been a playground for celebrities, artists, and yacht owners from around the world. But behind all the glam, Sanrope still has plenty of charm. Stroll through the old port where tiny fishing boats sit side by side with luxury yachts and explore the colorful old town with its narrow streets, pastel facads, and chic little boutiques. If you’re after beaches, you’ll find the best ones just outside town, especially the legendary Pomplan Beach. Little heads up, Santrop can be a bit tricky to reach. In summer, you’ll likely get stuck in traffic, so we recommend taking a ferry. In winter, though, you’ll need a car as there are no fairies and public transport won’t get you there. And we’ve reached our final destination. Marseilles, the biggest, edgiest, and most urban of the bunch. France’s second largest city with nearly a million inhabitants and its old port at its heart is the capital of Provence. It’s a bustling, contradictory city full of life with warm-hearted people. Though they might come across as a bit brisque at first, you could easily miss the real character of Marseilles if you only stick to the main tourist attractions like the museum or the fairly new cost [Music] me. So make sure to explore for instance Lupet Marles’s oldest district just next to the old port, a maze of narrow lanes, street art, and local spots. And speaking of the port, hop on a boat to discover one of the area’s absolute highlights, the Kant National Park. This wild, rugged stretch between Marles and Casi is famous for its steep, narrow inlets that look a bit like the fjords of Norway. And that wraps up our trip along the Kazour. We hope you enjoyed our compilation and that has inspired your own adventure in the south of France. 1. Just curious—where are you guys watching from? Drop your city or country in the comments! We love seeing how far the Riviera magic travels! ✨🏝

  2. Thank you for another great video. I am watching from Kazakhstan. I will visit French Riviera for the third time this summer and your videos are so informative and helpful.

  3. Hello from the Pacific Northwest! Thank you so much for your helpful videos, they have been the best for our research for upcoming first visit! Also, I just adore your sweet friendship 🥰

  4. Monaco is not a '' country '' by definition, it's a '' Principality '' illicit deal between the Grimaldi Family and France to have free autonomy in governance, period !!

  5. I'm from the UK and US (two-fer, from ferayster?). Love this video too. But I can tell, you are running out of ideas for what will be the next video topic. Here is one, but only if you are brave enough. Do a description of all the nude beaches on the Cote d'Azur, explaining their rules, locations, crowd size, etc. It's sure to draw in a curious audience. It will no doubt also draw a lot of new tourists and visitors to the coastline.

  6. I would ove for you to do an episode on good swimming beaches near Nice. I found that beach beside the Eilene Grey Cabinon nice and sparsly inhabited, but has too much seaweed for swimming. Another trip to the beach beside Villefranche Sur Mer port deposited with dog poop. but, I still keep trying to find out of the way places. Your insight would be great!

  7. I believe you live in Nice. Do you travel to other parts of France? Your videos are very nice, it would be great to see some other regions.
