I've just pulled the trigger on this, as I got a really good deal: £1,600 – with my additional 'bike to work scheme' discount dropping it to around the 1k mark. I wanted the Advanced 2 for better gearing, but it was over £1,000 more and came with a similar frame and wheel set up.

I want to buy a new set of wheels as I still have leftover budget and these seem like one of the weakest areas on the bike. I will keep the stock wheels and tyres for winter commuting, and get a new set for summer journeys (like London to Brighton in the next few weeks).

I pretty much do 50/50 road and gravel, over nothing too aggressive and almost always in the dry. In terms of tyres, I've looked at the usual Pathfinders, but they're always out of stock. In terms of wheels, it seems like any DT Swiss would fit the bill, but I'm a bit confused. What would be an ideal set up for me? My main concern is dropping some weight off the bike as well as being able to get me rolling well on the road on my way to light gravel trails / dry forest use.

Budget would be roughly £500-£700 for a wheel set and tyres.
