@ Gallivanter Al goes to the south of France with friends Simon and Pete to the Euro Festival in Port Grimaud. Bad weather and dodgy bike on the way.
All about living and doing more going forward meeting new people on the way

It’s [Music] alive. Off to France tomorrow. First big trip of the year. Going with Simon and Pete. Um I’m going to meet Simon first thing in the morning. Then we’re going to ride over to Newark, then head down to Folston. So looking forward to this. Be a good adventure. So I’ve packed the bike. Looking pretty good. But I’ve had to double check to make sure I do the weight right. So I’m not 100% sure. So, it’s all clean. Just taking the two bags. Obviously, I got the pas. Plenty in there. They’re solid. Got all me gear in there. iPad, uh, laptop, few snacks, medicines, first aid kit, which I found. So, looking forward to it. Yeah. Been a long time coming this. So, it will be I’m a bit nervous actually cuz it’s a long way on two wheels and I’ve been through France before and I don’t like them to be honest. You get a feeling you’re going to get pulled every time by them. But hopefully not this time. But I’m going to get an early night, get up and leave here probably about4 to 6:00 in the morning. Meet Simon, then over to Newick for Pete. Then we’re on our way. Cut to me tomorrow. Meeting Simon. Just waiting for Simon now. He’s here. Can you hear him? It’s so noisy. Well, we’re still at Walker’s garage. Got a few issues. Well, one issue we reckon it’s a battery pack. So, it filled it all full from there. And now we’re here. It won’t stop. So he’s ringing the RAC. See if to come out and jumping. He’s getting very stressed. And Pete’s on his way here. Give you an update. Just waiting for Pete’s son to come now and uh hopefully get this bike started so we can get going. But we’re already behind time now. Uh he’s in bits now. Well, not in bits, but took all his gear off already. But we’re struggling to get the seat off. So hopefully we can get it started. Good start to the morning. What you mean? We unbolt that. Yeah. And that’s no captive nut that that’s in behind it. It’s just a nut that falls and we can’t get it back up. Then we can’t put the panas back. I don’t see how it would be. I don’t see how it would be. P. You understand what I’m saying? But once you start doing it rat if you crack your eye off. Yeah, but you’ve got you’ve then got to push everything back in. So you say you cut the strap. Oh well, what do you need? Strap up on this trip. I need the bike to go strap. Yeah, he even you are, aren’t you? I know he needs it to ride. I’m practical. hell. This is all about doing daily. You see this is the start of the first day. Christ. knife’s about as sharp as sharp as you. Yeah. Yeah. Ah, there’s a trickle charger. That trickle charger never been used. Yeah, but why is it like that? Like what? Like that Cuz it’s just been crammed under the seat. But it weren’t like that. So that’s been done recently. Never done it in the garage. Yeah. Would you like to name drop their bad work? Um, well, let’s wait. So, that situ that terminal up if it does before you set sets off. Well, that loose as well. Yep. There’s a good line in it. Boost [Music] HD. It’s alive. Let’s go. We’re already behind. What we saying, Simon? What say? Are we up there? No. Don’t go over there. You don’t dare turn it off now. All the way to France. That’s Pete. Are we ready? Oh, are we ready? Big Simon will make it. Is that managing the lefty? Let’s go. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat up here. Oh, [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] We made it to the train. Oh yes. New road captain on the train waiting. Need to find duty free for some Time to give up smoking. Where you get where you get them from? Soon as we come out, check for one. All right. Get some duty freeze. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. If you ever need to make you Yeah, you are the only one I ever love. Yeah, you Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Day after the first day. I didn’t do much last night cuz I was knackered. I didn’t get into bed. France time about 10 11 after a beer, but I was knackered. So, I’ll show you the room. This is it. This was €57. Got woken up by an artic here from about half 3 unloading doing me. So I had a real bad night’s sleep. It’s more like a backpack this place. So this is just to finish off yesterday’s. And uh I’m very tired, but we’re going to get loaded and probably leave about half past 9. Bye.
