TL;DR: I completely swapped out my Kona Sutra 2018 cockpit with Surly Moloko handlebars and other fun things.

Ok, I did a 500 mile tour on stock drop handlebars. By about mile 400 I was not a happy camper with my handlebars anymore. I decided to go full swap with Surly Moloko handlebars. I needed to raise them based on my preferred riding position so I opted with a Promax adjustable stem.

This is supposedly a perfect use case for the Ergon GC1 grips. I decided to do something crazy and move the bar end shifters to the bull horns. I haven’t seen many people do this, but initially I am very happy with them there.

I will report back after some more miles, but going nuclear on my cockpit had to be done and I am really excited to put 5000 miles on this setup, with tweaks of course as needed. That is why I am a fan of adjustable stems, if you are trying to figure out stuff, they are great.

Part list:
