Riding through the hilltops of Crete on quad bikes, we stumbled upon something very special. Small villages nestled between endless rows of olive trees. In this secluded area, business isn’t built on big processes. It’s built on community, care, and craft.

In this part of the world, olive oil isn’t just a product but a way of life. We were told that if you buy a home without land to grow olive trees, you’re gifted barrels of olive oil instead. That’s how deeply it runs in their culture.

We toured an olive oil factory and spoke with the locals. Their process is simple, honest, and rooted in tradition. Families spend up to 14 hours a day harvesting olives in the winter. They turn them into oil, jams, soaps, and much more to then sell them in their own shops to sustain their lives and families.

What struck me most was how seamlessly their work became part of the experience we were on. The quad biking wasn’t just tourism, it was storytelling. It drew us in, gave us a taste (literally) of their lives, and made the products unforgettable.

I left with my bag full of goods (hoping that I had enough room for it in my suitcase), and a new appreciation for how small businesses can turn their story into their strongest marketing. Make it meaningful and make it memorable. That’s what people really carry home with them.

That’s crazy. I can be a tall guy today. And we’re driving under the clouds. It’s one of the funnest things I’ve ever helmets off and we are stopping at a local village. This is incredible. There’s lots of uh Oh my goodness. Look, little baby. All of these cats are wild. They live on the streets. Looks like such an amazing place. And it looks really odd with like you’ve got the picturesque village and then new cars driving through. It looks really really insane. See what I mean? Yeah. So, this tree here, look how wide it is. Look at that. That’s incredible. So, this is 2,000 years old. One of the oldest trees up here. It’s insane. I spot him. Got a tiny doll. Friends, dog. Hey, tiny dog. Hello. something to turn away. Well, my mama papa told me, “Son, you got to make some money. If you want to use a car, go right.” Okay, so we’re about to go down a very steep hill. So, this is where we’re heading. He’s just letting everyone know that it’s steep and how to break properly. So, no acceleration, of course. Now, if this is your first time off-roading, I’ll give you a little tip on how to do it. So, what we want to avoid is these massive rocks. Uh, get the in between there. Have you got hold of the camera? I got the camera. So, I’m going to go steady like this. You can feel the steering trying to take its weight where it [Music] shouldn’t. He loves it. Puddle. Now we got big puddle. Here we go. Not the day that train. Oh no. Sometimes I wonder what I’m going to do, but there ain’t no summer. Here we go. Getting a glimpse of the views as well over here. Is this a nice view to see out? Not quite. [Music] [Music] Oh no, the brakes. The brakes. Just kidding. Joke, guys. [Music] I’m going to take the wings. Whoa. Nearly went for it. Now, this is the mistake with off-roading. So, he went in this dip just here and his steering wheels at the [Music] front. See, you just got to take a steady like that. There we go. Number one key to off-roading. Don’t do that. So, he’s about to do it up there as well, but I can’t get it there. It’s not fast, huh? Well, it’s not very fast. We’ve had it up to 120. Was it KMH? Was that about 60 60 mph? I don’t know. My KM8 is miles per hour. the fact that he’s on a little mo and he’s absolutely fine on those skinny tires. [Music] Sorry. Sorry. What you’re not seeing on camera is a headbutting me with their help. Oh, what happened? Oh, what are you doing? Right. Pick your feet up with a bit. Why is there a river on the road? I’ve got a wet leg. Put your legs up like this. It’s like an absolute pro. This ain’t my first rodeo. What? Is that a lake over there? I don’t know. I’m going to take my problem to the United Nations. Well, I called my congressman and he said, “No, I’m about to kill someone. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. I [Music] think [Music] heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat. Oh my goodness. I think he got told off. He’s got taken off of his own quad bike. Yikes. But the these views are amazing though, aren’t they? They are insane. [Music] This is a high street. I wonder if the locals find [Music] Let’s play guess the car. Do we reckon it’s an actual BMW? I cannot confirm or deny what it is. Oh no, it looks like No, it’s a free series. Free series. If you get free series, give yourself a pat on the back. [Music] touchy [Music] work. Suzuki Lana How’s the old Top Gear? What was it? Reasonably priced car is ridiculous. Cross the road. We’re going into an olive oil uh what is it? Olive oil tour factory. And we’re going to see how it’s all made because that’s what it’s known for here is all of the olive trees and things up in the hills. So, let’s go check it out. So what you left from the So here we’re having shots of olive oil, which is a weird concept, but you’ve got all different flavors. So you’ve got orange, lemon, garlic. What is this? Normal normal basil and basil. So yeah, this is the first time I’ve ever had a shot with bread in it. But it is beautiful. So what was this one? Basil. Let’s try some basil olive oil. Not too bad. That’s all right. What do you think of that? That’s good. Yeah. Garlic is my favorite. The garlic. Yeah, I bet. Yeah. But you like garlic anyway. I would say the What was it? What was the first one we had? Orange. Orange was I think my favorite. It is ro and I didn’t think I’d like that one. Yes. Yeah. And the lemon one wasn’t too lemony and more olive oil. taste to it. You want to try the jam? Let’s try the jam. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Wow. What a place. This would be made better if I didn’t have helmet here. And they’re gorgeous. So is the view. [Music] Beautiful. Yeah. Go on. Then we’ll have some photos, shall we? Who are they? What are they doing in there? I can hear the bees. So many bees. It’s great to see all of this wild flower. It’s incredible. Full of gratitude, I think. Lots and lots of gratitude. Amazing. Look at us. Absolute melon heads. I think we’re incredibly lucky, aren’t we, to actually be doing something like this. It’s great. And look at the view. Wow. I love that the clouds are like touching the very tops of the hills. Look at that. It’s insane. wheel. Where did he park his bike? It’s funny that he keeps leaving the bike there and then we have to we have to we have to find our way. Oh no. Oh, you might have to take the camera here. So, the tour guide is riding on a moped up ahead of us. He’s tackling hell of a terrain on a tiny little thin wheels. Here he comes. Here he comes. And he just rushes ahead. I don’t know if I got that. Did he Did he just jump [Music] that? That was insane. But now he’ll park the moped like all the way up there and then he’s going to jump on this quad bike just here to help this guy cuz he’s not very uh confident on the allterrains. But it is so funny. Let’s see when he starts running back. He’s going to come around the corner like an absolute hero. There he is. Absolute trooper. This is the definition of not leaving a man behind. Yeah. And off he goes. Here we go. Stopped again. He should be coming around this corner any second. Absolute trooper. That is the sort of guy that you want in the trenches with you when you go to war. That’s what that is. Where is he? And on the whack horse as well. The little scooter. You want to see some of this terrain. I don’t know if he’s been getting Have you been getting a lot of the terrain? Yeah. But it’s amazing. It’s a wonder why we’re on quad bikes and not all on scooters. It looks so much fun. There he is. It’s only a little scooter. We came here and it was raining when we first came here, but now look at this. Insane view is Wow. Heat Oh wow, what a day. Very picturesque, very beautiful, and wow, Creek is amazing. The scenic views, couldn’t get enough of it. And I want to thank the driver as well as the guy on the scooter um for getting us through it because it was absolutely incredible, wasn’t it? It’s just It was great. It was impeccable. And I don’t really know what else to say other than go check out doing it yourself. Uh where did we find it, too? Was it on Trip Advisor or something? Get your guide. Get your guide. And it was like the first or second recommendation. You can see why. Um, what is it like? 4.8 stars out of five, I think. So, it’s like really highly rated. It’s probably one of the best ones that we’ve ever done. We did one in Turkey many years ago now, but it wasn’t as good as that because it was just like a dirt track and you’d have to go around some obstacles and then we went out for like half an hour into the wild as it were. Um, and then you’d go back and it just wasn’t as good. And for the price, what did we pay give or take? About 50 quid. 50 quid. 50 quid per person. Again, a fantastic deal because we’ve been out there for 4 hours. Um, yeah, just amazing. So, thanks very much for watching. Hope you got something from this. We definitely did. And make sure that you like and subscribe so you don’t miss out on the next video, whatever that may be, because it could be literally anything on the channel. So, thanks for watching. Speak to you soon. Cheers.
