THE VIDEO: This is a bicycle riders-eye-view of a ride from Le Marais in Paris to Champigny-sur-Marne, to the east of the city, via the Bois de Vincennes. It was filmed on May 8th 2025 at around 6:30PM.
THE ROUTE: The 13km (8 mi) ride starts outside Le Peloton Café on Rue du Pont Louis-Philippe and then proceeds along Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint-Antoine toward Place de la Bastille. At the Place de la Bastille we’ll negotiate the difficult bike lane around the Colonne de Juillet (the large column) then head down Rue de Charenton in the 12th arrondissement to the Coulée verte, a park built on the path of the former Vincennes railway line. Emerging from that we’ll pass under the Boulevard Périphérique (Paris ring road) and head into the greenery of the Bois de Vincennes. After that we’ll pass the Hippodrome de Vincennes then briefly ride alone the D5 crossing a bridge over the Marne River into Joinville-le-Pont where we will pick up the bike path alongside the river toward Champigny-sur-Marne.
If you enjoyed this video you can comment if you like, though a better thing to do would be to find a bike and go for a ride if you can!
