Back in February, I ordered a TOWILD BR1000 bike light after seeing this review on r/bicycling. I mounted it under the front wheel on my Brompton using an aliexpress GoPro bracket.
However, I quickly realized that the remote button that comes with the light doesn’t sit well on Brompton’s H-type handlebar. So I started looking for a better way to mount it.
After disassembling the remote, I had an idea — why not attach it to the unused ring bell mounting point on the left brake caliper? A few CAD sessions (and many YouTube tutorials), plus some conversations with an AI, later I had a custom-designed bracket that integrates the button neatly into the Brompton's layout.
I’ve been testing this prototype for a few days now, and I’m really happy with how clean it looks and how naturally it fits. Much better than trying to strap it somewhere on the bars!
This was actually my first-ever 3D model from scratch. I had to buy a printer and learn everything from zero — totally worth it, though. Hopefully, some flashlight manufacturer notices this and makes a ready-made version for Brompton users. As far as I know, there’s no solution like this currently available on the market for Brompton.
