Danny van Poppel (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) claimed victory on Stage 1 of the Tour de Hongrie 2025 with a powerful sprint in Győr. Originally set to lead out Sam Welsford, van Poppel took the final corner in perfect position and launched his own sprint to the line. He held off Tim Torn Teutenberg (Lidl-Trek) and Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco-AlUla) after a fast 210km stage from Budapest.
