Good morning. What a beautiful day in Rubé. Who says the north of France gets bad weather? It’s been absolutely stunning for 3 days. So, I’m going to take the AliExpress hard tail rebuild to Rubé. Taking in some of the cobbles along the way. Uh, specifically the car dear, which is probably one of the most famous sectors. I’m going to stop off at the event headquarters, probably get some food, and then cycle to Lil, which is about 10k away from Rube, and take the train back to here. So, let’s get riding. [Music] [Music] [Music] So, onto the second set of cobbles for the day. Loads more activity today. Seen loads of pro riders. I think here’s a set coming now. Here they come. EF Education. It’s one for my wife. Let’s keep rolling. Once more, the end cap has come out of my chain set. Uh I just cycled 3k back to try and find it and I just found it on sector 12. Would you believe it? Not sure what I’m going to do. I’m going to try and make a repair, but there’s obviously something wrong with the Senic chain set or perhaps it’s the insulation. Who knows? Anyway, going to try and fix it and make a decision. So, I’ve temporarily fixed the problem. I can think I can see what the matter is now. I had to put a spacer in on the drive side so the chain ring would clear the rear of the frame. And I think the retaining bolt was just not quite long enough to grip it and stay in. So, I fixed it again temporarily and I will keep checking it every kilometer or so. As I was halfway to Rube, I decided to carry on. Although, I’ve taken out a big chunk of the cobbles. I’m just going to go and do the one the I’m just going to go and do the car lab cuz that’s the one I really came for and then head for the rub in the quickest way possible. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] They don’t. [Music] [Music] So, I’m at sector 8 where Van Reel have set up a stand. Uh there’s also a frittery and a coffee shop. Coffee is free. The chips were €4. And I bought myself a Coke as well cuz it’s a crackingly hot day. Bonafet. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Just about to do sector 5, but I’ve taken a right detour because this never fails to amuse me. Currently, I’m in France. And now I’m in Belgium. How cool is [Music] that? [Music] [Music] Here we go. It’s the big one. It’s the carpal lab. This is one I’ve been waiting to do. I prefer this to the true down river. Flows a little bit better, I think.
