Let’s go for this fifth stage, 151 km, 900. With Alessandro Verre’s teammates. Is it Alessandro Verre himself who is running away? It’s interesting because we also have Movistar going there. And a Polti, we suspected that. And behind, for the moment, no one is taking orders. We see the teams sprinting, we especially see the Lidl Trek. Lorenzo Milesi will make the connection and there we will be able to function as a team, Jacky. There are three of them. It’s the same team from now on. Look, he’s winning the intermediate sprint. He is passing in front of Bais and he is going to collect the bounty. You can share it this evening. That’s perfect. This is good news. Thank you in any case. Things are moving behind for the points, David. The remaining points are Mads Pedersen who will sprint with Filippo Fiorelli, in particular. Thank you Arnaud Gérard. Have a good day. He totally escapes. Mads Pedersen, there, for fourth place. He took the turn with full force. Kaden Groves who He’s definitely going to take fifth place. Yes, Olav Kooij. The Cyclamen jersey, which is not going to compete. The sprint, he is behind. He is behind Wout Van Aert. Three more points for Mads Pedersen. He neglects nothing. The pink jersey. Lorenzo Milesi. Is he going to play a little? I have the impression. Yes, he attacks. He’s pretending. He’s a player, Milesi. Milesi does not insist. A sprint launched from a long distance from the rider of the Arkea B&B team, but who, again, will take the lead in front of Bais. It’s not Kaden Groves who is playing this sprint yet, it’s going to be Plowright. Who is going to be left empty-handed? It’s going to be Olav Kooij. He didn’t insist either. The Cyclamen jersey while Pedersen insisted on getting his two points or three points? Three points. Three points for Mads Pedersen and one point for Plowright. Ooh there, a fall behind two Bardiani who may have caught on. That’s stupid. That’s the least we can say with Pinarello who is on the ground in the company of Filippo Magli’s 213. They are all together in the middle. Yes, at some point, they are not vigilant. It brakes in front and… And go. Epis, it is vastly superior. He throws from afar. But from a very far distance. Maybe a little too far. Be careful, Giosuè. He is stronger. He felt it. He felt it in his legs during the two previous sprints that he was strongest. He will win all his lines. The three sprints are in the pocket of Giosuè and the Arkéa – B&B Hotels team, Arnaud Gérard and Sébastien Hinault. Lidl Trek which is taking orders, but it is not going up very quickly. That’s the point, I think. Adam Yates who is there too. Neither does Olav Kooij. That’s important. Olav Kooij who will not be in the finale today. Saved. Attention. Jay Vine rolling. The formation of the United Arab Emirates which is taking place and which is accelerating. Ethan Hayter who will also break away from the peloton. It’s over for Dion Smith. Finished for Kaden Groves. Finished for Max Kanter. Also for Van Uden, yesterday’s winner. There, it accelerated. It accelerated, it’s UAE. It is UAE which is accelerating with Lidl behind. Look, the Jay Vine, they’re not the pedals. They told him: Get on the train, take it easy. Except that Jay Vine, calm down, it’s 25 km/h. Mads Pedersen who is no longer in the top positions. We no longer see it, the pink jersey. It is clearly accelerating. It’s going to hurt a lot. I think we want to get Pedersen out. We perhaps also want a stage victory for this UAE team. We no longer had a gap. We found the two fugitives. Finished for Davide Bais and Lorenzo Milesi. And this, 13 km from the finish. They will score 13 plus 5, 18. I take away 20 to 5, approximately 130 points for both of them. There will also be points for Giosuè Epis. A little less, but points too. For the Fuga. Escaped, finished. It’s starting to turn around. It’s driving harder and harder. Big acceleration of Ineos. With Egan Bernal in second position. Vacek is there, Mads Pedersen, too. It goes to the right there. Finished for Van Aert who got up completely. Groves didn’t get up. It hurts. to quite a few runners in this false rising flat. Another surprising image from Wout Van Aert. Did you see? We didn’t see him. Throughout the climb, he remained a little behind. But when it is necessary to be placed, he is there with Giovanni Aleotti who accompanies him. Vacek, Simon Yates. It goes up from now on. Crash in the first positions. Be careful, he will attack. Primoz Roglic, he will accelerate. It’s a nice acceleration in any case. He’s trying something. And Juan Ayuso, still no Juan Ayuso. It hurt some runners. Del Toro who is there. Bernal who makes the effort. He is very far away, Juan Ayuso. Finally, tenth, he was not completely in front, but he is not too far away. It’s Roglic who cuts his effort. Mathias Vacek is for Mads Pedersen. I’m not sure Groves can hang on here. We see Juan Ayuso who has come to replace himself in the Primoz Roglic route. That’s it, it’s there. Isaac Del Toro who may have been there. Isaac Del Toro who will perhaps attack Mathias Vacek in the route. He took his place again, the Mexican. He’s fiery, he has a temperament. Simon Yates in third position. It’s going to be hard to attack because it’s going up quickly for Mathias Vacek. Oh Pedersen. oh, he’s moving back, the pink jersey. Finished for Mads Pedersen. It’s going to be very complicated. Will he be able to hang on? We’re going to tell him through the headset: Raise your foot, Mathias. Everyone turns around. For now, he’s not moving. He is there. To play for victory, for the Ineos team. Look, I think it’s complicated for Mads Pedersen. Everyone understands it, everyone wears the pink jersey. It rocks. We finished the most difficult part. Well done by Mathias Vacek, who will try to put everyone to sleep. Superbly well played. It will try. Caruso who is going to attack. But, attack from the man from Raguze, Damiano Caruso. Mathias Vacek, he’s still solid. He jumps on anything that moves. Mads Pedersen, he is still far away. I remember, there are quite a few turns in these last two kilometers. No, it’s Fiorelli. It’s Fiorelli who is there. Mads Pedersen who is coming back, but his legs will hurt. In any case. With Romain Bardet making the effort. Who is behind Romain Bardet? Max Poole. There’s Tom Pidcock there. Storer also. Full center, it’s Mathias Vacek. Fiorelli hands down. Bardec, he’s going to throw for Max Poole. Mads Pedersen is ideally placed now. Will his legs be strong after the effort he just put himself through? Mathias Vacek, he could almost even win the stage, he is so strong. It’s huge. He’s huge, Mathias Vacek. Look, he did the whole climb, he calmed the peloton down. And now, here he is, pilot fish with Mads Pedersen less than 500 meters from the line, ideally placed. Come on, Quentin Pacher on the rope who comes to third position. Come on, Quentin, don’t worry. He’s in a good place. Quentin Pacher in Mads Pedersen’s wheel. With Aular, with Brandon Rivera and Pidcock who will make the effort. Mads Pedersen who triggers with Tom Pidcock in his wheel. Matias Vacek who moves aside, Aular who is there. Behind, it’s over for Pacher. It’s over for Fiorelli. It will be played between Mads Pedersen and Tom Pidcock who goes back to the pedals. Tom Pidcock who will not be able to pass. And that’s… Wow! Ooh there! Mads Pedersen. Zambanini? We will wait nearby with Zambanini for Bahrain because there we have a doubt. Yes, no one raised their arms. And it’s true that along the barriers, we can emphasize. I think Mads Pedersen felt a runner coming on the left. He was very fair. He didn’t close the door on her. It’s true that it’s always a risk to close the door to a rider coming from the left at the risk of being downgraded. Everyone is waiting. We’re going to experience it together. Victory for Mads Pedersen. Hats off, because he fought. Once again, we controlled the tempo in this last climb with Mathias Vacek really making a huge start to the Giro. I think there will be disappointment, obviously, for Edoardo Zambanini, who was perhaps stronger than Mads Pedersen over the last 200 meters, but too far 150 meters from the line. He noted the good place of Quentin Pacher, who must be there among the first 10. Seventh, Quentin Pacher. Aular will take fourth place. Filippo Fiorelli, the Sicilian, fifth, ahead of Michael Storer, Brandon Rivera. It was for Rivera that we saw working earlier, Egan Bernal, who is eighth, Damiano Caruso, ninth, and Isaac Del Toro. will go for tenth place in this fifth stage.
