Hi everyone,
I’m planning to upgrade the cockpit on my Trek Domane AL 4 Gen 3 with a KOCEVLO integrated carbon handlebar (bar + stem, with internal or semi-internal cable routing).
From what I understand, the Domane AL Gen 3 isn’t designed for full internal routing through the headset, but it does support semi-internal setups meaning cables can run inside the bar, exit before the stem, and enter the frame through the top of the downtube.
The handlebar is on aliexpress with a solid reputation.
Questions:
• Has anyone here installed this bar (or something similar) on a Domane AL Gen 3?
• Is the external/semi-internal cable routing option on the KOCEVLO bar fully compatible with the Domane AL Gen 3?
• For those who’ve done a similar upgrade, did you have to replace the shift/brake cables and housing, or were you able to reuse the existing ones if the length allowed?
What I already have / plan to buy:
• KOCEVLO handlebar (comes with spacers + computer mount)
• Bar tape
• Carbon assembly paste
• Torque wrench
• Cable/housing cutter
• Possibly a new cable/housing kit (if needed trying to avoid extra work if I can reuse the originals)
Thanks in advance for any feedback or photos if you’ve done something similar!
