Trying out some cheap eBay Shimano ‘brifters’ and a cheap Chinese 8 speed freewheel, and I have to say I’m impressed so far. Not convinced the bars are quite right for me though, I think a shallower drop and a shorter reach might be in order soon. The ‘Ass Saver’ didn’t live up to its name when things got wet, but I do have some old mudguards to fit now the weather is turning when I get round to it.
