Bicyclists will take over the streets of Dallas this weekend for the first time since 2018.

Well, it’s a big weekend in Dallas after a seven year absence, the American bike ride is returning to North Texas. Hundreds of bicyclists will take over the streets of Dallas this weekend for the first time since 2018. And joining me to talk about it is Danielle Berman Ruiz, the director of partner service and communications with the Dallas Bike Ride. Thank you for joining us, Danielle, and tell us about this bike ride. I got pulled into making this ride, signing up for this ride, so I’m excited for it, but also. Little nervous. Oh, — don’t be nervous myself and those other cyclists
— expect. Oh my gosh, it’s a day of fun. So nervous, take the nervous out. It’s gonna be a great day. We are so excited to be back in Dallas. Uh, it is a 20 mile car free ride, so the roads are closed. It’s all the cyclists coming out it seeing Dallas in a new way. So get ready for food, fun, music, all the, — all the great stuff you
— can get. I’m not, not nervous anymore, but tell us who can participate. Is there an age limit? No, it’s anyone 3 and up can come out, um, ages 3. Through 7 ride free with a parent or a guardian and then uh anyone up to, you know, 98 if you want to come out and ride a bike you’re you’re ready to come out whether you’re a longtime rider or first time rider. I was gonna say a lot of people are really competitive others maybe not so much. So what can they expect when they’re out there on the route? Well, we are very, very big on this is a ride, not a race. It is for fun. It is for all experience levels, so there will be lots of stops for photos. You’re gonna pass some great Dallas sites like the JFK Memorial Bridge. Bishop Arts District, Reunion Tower, all these things stop, take pictures, celebrate, grab snacks, listen to music, so it’s all about enjoying the day, not finishing first, and we love it when we cross that finish line, a little extra motivation. — There’s gonna be a festival at
— the end. There is, there’ll be a DJ, a beverage garden with some Deep Ellum beers, a new Belgium. There will also be, uh, vendors, food, all kinds of stuff. So definitely stop by and hang out afterwards. And this is also an opportunity when we have these big events to give back. To the community, that’s what this bike ride’s doing. So it’s great to have it back for the first time since 2018, as we mentioned. Yeah, and we are supporting three incredible bike advocacy organizations Bike Friendly South Dallas, the Dallas Bicycle Coalition, and Bike DFW all doing incredible work for Dallas and biking. OK, so if people are listening to this and say this sounds fun. I want to take part. Tell them how they can register. You could still register up until the end of the week, up until Friday at Dallasbikeride.com. We would love to have everyone come out on bikes this Saturday.
