On a sunny Saturday morning, the Little Adventure Time crew joined families across Coventry for Kidical Mass — a fun, peaceful bike ride with a serious message: children deserve safe streets to ride on.
From toddlers in bike seats and trailers to older kids on follow-me tandems or riding solo, riders of all ages pedalled together from Coventry Station to the iconic Coventry Cathedral, passing local landmarks and turning heads along the way.
Kidical Mass is part of a growing international movement happening in hundreds of cities across Europe and beyond. It gives children and families a chance to reclaim the streets — showing what a more bike-friendly, people-first city could look like.
It’s more than just a ride — it’s a call for change. Better cycling infrastructure, lower traffic speeds, and safer streets for the next generation.

Each week on this channel Ian (Dad) and Iona share our little adventure experiences, often joined by Ewan (Iona’s older brother) and Ruth (Mum) too.
Our weekends often start with parkrun. Iona is on a non-repeat parkrun tourism streak having now visited over 100 different places since she started parkrunning. But we don’t just do parkun and dash home, we love exploring the area and often use bikes and trains for our travels to keep our carbon footprint low and because it adds to the adventure too. When school holidays arrive, longer adventures are possible with Ewan and Iona both being keen cycle tourists and mountain climbers!
So if you like heading outdoors and your idea of a perfect weekend includes parkrun, climbing a mountain or exploring new places on two wheels then we would love to have you join us on our adventures.

[Music] Everybody [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] This is scary. [Music] Seeing all the kids and families out in the sunshine enjoying the local city center. Oh, it was brilliant. It was really well organized. There were so many of us um cycling around. It was really safe. Um it was really good fun. The children really enjoyed it. Recommend it to any family. The seeing the kids on the road cycling confidently w with all the traffic, but knowing that they’re safe. They are entitled to be on the road. They should be on the road and they can gain their confidence so that they can start to cycle more and more and more and we can hopefully become a much more cycling friendly city. I enjoyed it because we got to go on the road. Brings loads and loads of people together and it makes children feel safe on the streets for a short ride with in a safe environment that’s actually covered protected by all the other people here. Just let people of comry know to bring the kids as a family. We just ride together and use the roads as it should be used. It normalizes cycling. There’s nothing exceptional about it. However, it is exceptional cuz everyone comes together as a community. The fact that we are on bikes and going through a city and getting around by bicycle feels completely normal. Not a sport, an activity. It’s just something that people do. I think that’s beautiful.
