After a few weeks, and a 150mi or so, wanted to share my experience. I'm 5'11, 165 and riding a M – upgraded to this bike from a fuji transonic 2.5. My first canyon, my first wireless bike. I'm in the midwest, so largely flat riding, but this spring has been a bit wet, and very windy so far….
1) Comfort – the bike fits me really well. Very natural to be down in the handles, my rides are usually 20-25miles and I get no discomfort. This was my biggest worry buying a bike online and so far, no complaints
2) Speed – its fast. Probably too fast for me to be honest. It just flies and has taken some getting used to for me. I've found myself covering the brake more often than I recall with my previous bike…
3) Control – the wind has been really challenging for me on this bike. The cross-wind impact is not something that I am used to – I'm assuming its due to the rims and the weight? There have been a few moments where a large vehicle or a gust of wind pushes the bike around. Need to find ways to manage this better, its frightening
Some questions:
– I got my bike from the outlet, there are two small chips in the paint. Are there better or cheaper options than the touch-up paint from canyon? Its almost $70 for a touch-up pen for black matte
– Any tips to help with cross-winds?
– Tube vs tubeless – any suggestions for this bike? Running tubes at the moment
