A short edit of my adventure. Unfortunately I didn’t film as much as would have liked on the return due to having a very bad throat infection. I was just glad I finished. It was the toughest thing I’ve ever done.
[Music] so here I’m start line uh setting off about 15 minutes there the starting Gantry up ahead there we go ready to [Music] start just uh spend energy this bigger group FR get a nice [Music] tow [Music] it’s um big chairs it’s just after midnight uh 120 km in and I just had a hot dog in a Coke and some terrible French singer uh but he’s finished now fortunately so uh next stop another 80 k thing [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so as you can see Sun’s Up night it’s another half six in the morning not look sleep yet I’m quite tired uh be a bit ay uh 260 km in this is uh control number three of the deck just under about halfway to breast just under 300 km cues are massive to get drinks and everything so I’m just going to pop onto a cafe or something and grab something [Music] there so I’ve come here to eat my sandwich I’m going to have to be quiet cuz over there he’s asleep the guy on the picnic bench is asleep another guy in a hammock over there asleep [Music] lightweight halfast 2 Monday got far off 400 km done so thir away just my first sleep in about 30 hours uh not sure how long somewhere between 10 minutes and half an hour I think just on a muddy patch of grass in the shade lovely as it’s 33° in the Sun a minute none of the course is flat they’re going uphill or downhill like this none of are particularly steep it’s a long gradual gradient been on this one for 5 to 10 minutes looks like I’m nearly at the top and then be downhill and then I’ll go back up again in a similar [Music] way so I’m going to J second time uh a bit much chip had bit the bad patch about an hour ago yeah 60 km really hilly around deck good rhythms tired still in the had half an hour 4 minutes [Music] sleep so finally arrived in breast 36 hours or so almost to the minute after setting off so it’s time for uh uh some food and some rest before setting off back to [Music] Paris [Music] trouble I think it’s uh Tuesday afternoon sun’s been beating down all day thsy degrees again I’ve also got a bit of a sore throat which means haven’t really been eating like you should be I just sat with a little cafe there in order to clear the past it and could manage half of it and we’ll see over the next hour or so on some pasts had effect haven’t really been eating enough [Music] curvs [Music] 3 a.m. coffee [Music] shop I’m still here I’m still in pain uh I didn’t quit in the end obviously Rachel persuaded me to keep trying although when I left the control and nearly did turn back it’s got a a little easier I not have the uh fatigued night yesterday my throat was really painful still been to the chemist got some of spray to be honest might taking the edge off at a bit but not much more plan is to get to draw last control before the finish some point tonight and then it’s just a 50 km ride TR ride to the end yeah still getting stalls even slit on uh having giving away actually galletes s of a Breton pancake water everything everything’s been really kind mentioned before about these Relentless Hills here’s another one that’s about a kilometer 4 or 5% radiant this must have been the 100 one I’ve gone for the last few days [Music] Sun’s just coming up on last morning one more control on the way it’s about uh 40 other km [Music] away
