An unexpected gem right in the middle of an industrial estate and next to junction 16 of the M4 motorway. I saw that Joe from Wessex photography has also been here and took some lovely photo’s, here’s a link to Joe’s video: https://youtu.be/VMx1tesmvbo?si=L-LR3BGnL_gww2fs
Hagbourne copse
The copse is a remnant of a much larger woodland dating from the 17th century, its possible the woodland here is even semi ancient. It is secondary semi natural with some fabulous Oak stands and a carpet of native bluebells carpet the woodland floor in Spring.
It once belonged to the Lydiard estate but is now maintained by the Woodland trust. The is a circular path and it’s open to the public but the path in places is not wheelchair accessible.

Very nice Sandy great to see the trike out again in a lovely little woodland, more tricking videos when you have the time .
,hope Mandy is coping and soon be well 🌞
A sunny day and out for a ride on the Trike, pure enjoyment. To be able to take the cameras along and capture nature in its true form, is a pleasure in itself. That woodland is a little haven especially when the Bluebell are out, some lovely photos, there’s always something special about Bluebells. 👍👍😀
Absolutely beautiful woodland and film thank you.
Yes I do agree with you wholeheartedly on your thoughts about humanity, just watch it quickly deteriorating around us all, sad but true.
Another fantastic video sandy and best wishes to you and mandy
What a beautiful day for a ride out. The trike gives a lovely perspective being lower down. How amazing those woods nestled in the midst of all that development. Really enjoyed watching it was a lovely relaxing video. Thanks Sandy
Swindon in my mind is a wonderful place. Probably because I'm from Burford and my mother always taken us shopping in Swindon when town centers was awesome. She used to drag us around C&A for clothes and that cafe in the covered market area. Can't remember where I just remember it
Thanks for your lovely video & beautiful photo,s, an oasis. Jan
So glad you found Hagbourne copse wonderful place .
You answered my question, what is the point of the park if all you can hear is traffic and industry. When that all collapses.
That was great Sandy, great that nature can thrive surrounded by industry. I liked the photos, a nice use of depth of field.
I was hoping it was a new trike vid after getting the bug from your vids I got one
So important to preserve pockets of natural environment in our ever increasing rush to develop, I’m fortunate to live on the edge of a 2000 acres forest that can be re classified or built on , let’s hope it stays that way. Nice video.
What a lovely little woodland! I liked when you said about it spreading out again, maybe it won't be when humans are gone, but maybe when we have a better understanding of how important these places are. Okay that might be wishful thinking by who knows.
Also I love those photos! You're definitely developing (no pun intended) as a photographer!
Heya Sandy, Paul here watching from Auckland, NZ.
I find it sad to see/hear you apologising for releasing content you think won’t be as liked as other vlogs, I would like to implore(I’m sure others are with me!) you to stop saying negative stuff about your content. I think the amount of variation in your content is a large part of why you have the followers you do. I am here most for the bicycle content but watch the rest as well, I enjoy the quietness in your approach, the history, the way you choose your shots etc.
Some content creators feel a need to act all overly excited and are just about shouting, that type of approach can be quite jarring, where as your videos are more like having a conversation over the fence or out on a ride, they feel calm, natural and cohesive, they flow very well.
There will always be the moaners, but that is their lot, not ours collectively.
Thank you Sandy for your content and commitment to us as viewers but with everything you have had going on of late you have absolutely nothing to feel bad about, we aren’t going anywhere.
Thanks for the great video, a possible wild camp spot maybe, when the bluebells have gone ? 👍
My daughter went there the other day. Clouts Wood is a stunning place on our doorstep. Some lovely places to find on the bike. I did 25 miles up the ridgeway 5 days ago but my arse has only just recovered!
How lovely to be retiring. All the best, Harry!
I love it when you take us to see the blue bells. Thank you for sharing this little bit of heaven.
Look after yourself Sandy & obviously Mandy too!! 🙏
Its not that the trike video will be boring it's just that we have to get over our all people who ride recumbents are weirdos 🤣
A beautiful trike ride out into the outskirts of Swindon. I really enjoyed this Sandy. The trike does definitely offer a very good look at things as you are riding by. Take care, I will see you on the next one.
I like the trike videos. Anyway, there’s always something for everyone in your videos. Thank you.
Dang Sandy; seems like you got 1 of everything. I don't recall ever seeing you on the trike! But man, you don't let any grass grow under your wheels. You really " ease on down the road" my friend. Yea, that's a right proper ride you have there. I enjoyed that woodland; those bluebell's are splendid. Thank's for taking the time my British friend. Have a glorious day! Cheers! Illinois, USA
Another wonderful video, Sandy! You got some beautiful images. Thank you for sharing and taking me along. Cheers!

Nice one Sandy.
Enjoyable video Sandy. All the best to you and Mandy.
Lovely photos Sandy, of “Bluebell” wood, cheers.
Í wonderd where that trike had gone, nice to see you out in it again, cheers as always for your videos sandy love them, a big hug for mandy.
Thanks for another great video, what a lovely place, lucky it was never destroyed like the rest of the wood, certainly a lovely display of bluebells.
It that time of year to get out and enjoy the spring bloom, not many people bother anymore. Here (East Tennessee) the wild iris and trout lilies are in full bloom right now, filling the forest floor with purple and yellow.
Oh them bloody trike videos !!! 😂
Sandy . Id watch a video of you making a cup of tea!!
Lovely little woods , maybe a cheeky little wild camp there ?
Love to Mandy ❤️
😍😍
Lovely photos Sandy , so sad to see our beautiful countryside being gobbled up by industry and housing , let's hope they see sence in the future, before it's to late
Love the trike videos! ❤️
Beautiful Sandy lad, and all the very best to Mandy.
Mother Nature, sure does take some beating, once again top job Sandy , thank you
That was great, Sandy. I really enjoyed that one. Great photos.
Gorgeous, your photography is always stunning, thank you Sandy 😊
Your trike videos are so good they inspired me to get my own trike!
All around me are familiar faces, worn out places, woodland places too…
Thanks for sharing Sandy. I’ve walked a lot of West Swindon but not as far out as that. And yes, good cycle trails. Funny thing is when we first moved to the area nearly 20 years ago we thought we had it all. Great shops, great leisure etc. But nowadays we hardly go near the place. Don’t like it at all now.
Good video again.
Very nice little woodland and some great photography Sandy, thanks for sharing.
I watch your videos for you and your content and your conversation, your mode of transport is irrelevant.
Another great and interesting video Sandy 🙂👍
The bluebells are great 👍
Love the trike videos! You motivated me to get one, and I absolutely love it. I commute 13 miles a day on it.
I missed this one, lovely relaxing ride out in area's I haven't seen in your videos before I don't think ? Really nice area's especially that little woodland with beautiful Bluebells, but such a shame it's shrunk from it's original size and it seems to be that land is being taken even more these days, excellent video and thanks for sharing Sandy 👏👋
