On the 6th July this year I will set off from my home town of Ceret in the south of France to ride not just the whole of the route 2025 tour de France but also the bits in between the stages. A total of 6,500 kilometres and 80,00 metres of climbing. I need financial support to help me do this and am also keen to tell my story to a wider audience.

On 6th July, 66-year-old pensioner Dil Davies will leave his hometown of Sere in Catalunia to cycle not just the whole route of the 2025 tour to France, but all the transitions between the stages. A total of 6 12,000 km and 80,000 m of climbing alone and unsupported. So, Dill, this sounds like something of a crazy challenge. What’s driving you to do it? Um, sometimes I don’t even know myself to be honest. Um, but seriously, I it’s it’s my charities. Um, and each one I’ve chosen because I have a personal reason for supporting them. Um, I’m a man in my mid60s uh and I know lots of friends uh who suffered or are suffering from prostate cancer. So obviously prostate cancer UK was a an obvious choice. Um unfortunately last year a friend of mine uh a colleague uh took his own life. Uh it was only then that I realized that 74% of suicides in the UK are are by men and men’s minds matter. uh specifically aimed to to raise awareness of that and to obviously help uh improve men and uh boys uh mental health. And finally, I have uh a French cousin uh who is suffering terribly from um myalgic inse um and this is a literally crippling disease for millions of people all over the world. She uses a wheelchair um but sometimes struggles even to muster the energy to to eat. Um and missing millions of France supports any sufferers and their families. So I think all in all three great causes um great causes. This is no ordinary ride. It’s a ride for those facing extraordinary battles, for mental health, for cancer awareness, for those invisible yet suffering every day with chronic illness. No rest days, no support team, just a man and his bike pushing past limits mentally and physically. With every kilometer raising awareness, with every climb raising funds. This is more than a challenge. It’s a legacy. Although Dill will be alone on the road, your support can make all the difference. Maybe you run a business that can offer him help to cover his accommodation costs. Or perhaps you think this would make a great story for your viewers, readers, or listeners. Whatever you can do to help, get involved, make an impact. [Music] Do you think you can do it? Um, well, that’s the $64,000 question. Um maybe of course I could do it. Join D on this road together. Let’s go the extra mile.
