Via Croatia’s yacht fleet disembarked from Dubrovnik harbor and set sail (so to speak) on the Adriatic Sea, along the Dalmatian Coast on the way to Split. Our first port-of-call: the island of Mljet, home of just over a dozen centuries-old settlements, plus Mljet National Park, a nature reserve of wild boars, deer, and Indian mongoose amidst pine forests and two saltwater lakes. There are plenty of ways to experience this bucolic park that takes up about a third of the island, and we saw what we could in our limited time by way of a guided #bike tour around the two lakes: Malo Jezero (Small Lake) and Veliko Jezero (Big Lake). Within the latter lies an island that holds the Romanesque Crkva sv. Marija (Church of St. Mary), which dates back to the 12th century. — Biking in Mljet National Park from Pomena and back, on Mljet, Croatia.
