Hi,
This is something me and my mate have been wanting to do for years. It’s come up in conversation many times – A bike ride from Milton Keynes to London via the Grand Union canal.
A legendary canal network through the midlands that was used as a highway, way back when. The canal is stretching a huge 137 miles (220km) starting in Birmingham all the way to London. As you can probably guess. it weaves in through many villages and towns, aswell as the canal itself hosting a community of people which live there on their boats, each very unique.
It’s honestly such a varied and unique journey.
Though our journey starts somewhat near the end, we still smashed out 90 miles (there and back) and already have plans to go the other direction (towards Birmingham) sometime.
So this is a video of that trip, hope you enjoy!
quick note
apologies for the quality in the first part of the video, I had deleted most footage by accident without backing it up…. thankfully, the first part was sent prior to that happening.
I definitely learned to back all my stuff up now.

[Music] [Music] What a cool way to get to school. Mr. the Ferrari of the bikes. Five slant on a good gear. It’s quite a low gear. It sounds a lot better. Yeah. Yeah. Literally sounds smooth, man. [Â __Â ] coated this [Â __Â ] Really cool. He gave it a wipe like said. Yeah, man. Yeah, I know. It sounds a lot better. Following the passengers on my sleeping bag. He looks so happy as [Music] well. Don’t mind being in the video, dude. So you got me short sniffing. Don’t worry. Yeah, I edit [Music] my bra for it. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Now we’re doing something. [Music] Hello [Music] Oh [Â __Â ] All right. Oh [Â __Â ] Yeah. No. Oh, [Â __Â ] hell. But we accidentally biked from Scotland. Thank you. Did you learn the shoe bodybop? What did you learn that song? Yeah, that is a more popular meme now. Yeah, baby. [Music] Oh, dumplings. Dumplings. to be in both hands. All back. We’re just going to finesse it, man. It’s a lot of [Â __Â ] Um, this is quite hard as it looks. Yeah, I know. I hear you. I might put my bite in the mic. That makes sense. Yeah, it’s a good idea actually. Use that as like kind of weight. That’s terrible. Oh, what can we do? Where’s the work left? Go down the side. Yeah. Up on the left, you reckon? Yeah. Yeah. Go over the hill and jump to a little branch at the end there. How am I going to do this? Oh, [Â __Â ] hell. No, I love this [Â __Â ] man. I love this [Â __Â ] I’m holding on to like roots in the tree or vines. I don’t know. Oh yes, I got mud all over the wheels. Probably [Â __Â ] as well. Well, at least it’ll dry up pretty quick. Nearly there. I’m going to go over this punch. We’re all good. There we go. Easy. Oh, it looks like a lot of slush up there, man. Getting slushed out. Yeah, I’m keeping distance. It’s all right. [Applause] I don’t even know why this is here. Wow. What the hell? I thought that was going to be a oneoff bit. More slush. Even more slush. It’s been hot for the last few days and this is still like [Â __Â ] That was very close. You almost went off in it. Almost fell in it. My shoes and [Â __Â ] Yeah, nearly. This is [Â __Â ] by the way. Oh man. [Applause] Oh, good. Yep. Oh, it’s starting to look a little more. I think we’ve uh we’ve conquered Just open the other way. What do you think, boys? Awesome. Awesome. Are you ready now? [Music] No golden sky. No [Music] golden shoo. [Music] [Music] [Music] He don’t go easy. He don’t drop my brother. He don’t drop. He don’t drop. He don’t drop. He don’t drop. He don’t drop. He don’t drop. He don’t shak. He don’t drop. He don’t drop. He don’t drop. drop. So let me know what you waiting for. If you know [Music] money, [Â __Â ] stop acting. [Music] Shall I go before [Music] you shy? [Music] I’m fine with that. I didn’t realize there was this many locks. There’s a lot there. We haven’t really gone through Watford now. We cleared it. We have gone past Watford. Watford’s gone, mate. Yeah. Just come just fully come out of it now. Yeah. And then this Rickman work we’re about to come up to is the last big town before we hit the park. That’s where the train. Yeah. God, I’m going like [Â __Â ] in this Tesco, man. I tell you, soon as we come out of Rick’s worth, we’re in we’re in the park last minute literally. Yeah. Once we got our [Â __Â ] we literally just bike for 5 minutes. Then we’re at the beginning of the park. What a ride. It is a long ride, isn’t it? It’s a [Â __Â ] long ride. Wendy drink over there. That’s how [Â __Â ] crazy I am, bro. I feel it now. Oh, the sweat in my eyes. Got something in my hand to close by. Oh, wet bag. Got my wet back. Hey little fella. Grip. The left grip started to move again. That super glue didn’t really Well, the right one’s still solid. It’s not moving as much [Applause] [Music] as Oh, this is nice. Wow. JK. Oh, wait. Yeah, this is it. Oh, so we need to go up here the stairs. Yeah, it’s literally the other side of that road just over this bridge. All right, let’s go up there. Oh, that’s peep man. That’s no easier way. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Just for the record, I’ve just biked back at least 10 minutes because this GoPro came off my bike. And as the search was nearing an end and all hope was lost, it revealed itself. I don’t know how to feel about that. It’s crazy. But here we are. We’re back. [Music] [Music] [Music]
