I wanted to thank everyone in this community for their words of love and support. I'm still processing my father's passing, but seeing the passion of the biking community towards ensuring safe conditions on the road has really helped me and my family during this time. Several folks reached out directly to offer additional support and condolences…I can't thank each of you enough for what you've done. My dad would be proud to be included in such an amazing community.
A little over a week's passed now… I'm doing better, but I feel the most pain for my mom now having to spend the remainder of her golden years alone. But the local FoCo community has been wonderful in providing her with support. My wife and I plan on moving back there in the near future to be near her.
I wanted to share this wonderful post on Instagram showing some of the highlights of my dad's life and achievements (special thanks to @yourgroupride for putting it together). Also, thank you to u/UnderstandingNo3426 to adding his initials to his helmet, recognizing lost loved ones.
Please be careful everyone… And cherish those closest to you. You never know when the last time you speak or hear from someone you love will be, treat every moment of this life as it could be the last.
