Welcome to sunny Cyprus! I was invited by The Agora Hotel to experience the roads, culture, and climbs of this stunning island. In today’s vlog, I take on some serious elevation under the Cyprus sun, chat with fellow riders, and soak in the islands atmosphere. From long climbs and breathtaking views to great conversation and good vibes on the bike, this is what cycling adventures are all about. Huge thanks to Aleks from The Agora Hotel for making this trip possible.

What’s up everyone? Welcome to another episode. Today, straight from Cyprus on the back of train Alex from the Agora Hotel, I would say. Let’s jump right into this beautiful episode. I think I got a vendetta. Oh, now they call me I seen them. All of those getting I told them all let up. They not tired of me. Never. Give me a shot and I swear I shoot like Berettas. Yeah. Yeah. They getting nervous. I seen they seen. It is now time to start packing for 4 days of cycling in Cyprus. And I think I slightly underestimated the amount of things that I’ll need for 4 days of cycling. But luckily, Airbag was so kind to send over one of their under the seat kind of hand luggage size specified backpacks. Let’s quickly pack everything up and hope it’s going to fit. Let’s go. [Music] Hey, hey, hey, hey. [Music] Love it. All right. So, it’s 5:00 a.m. Quite tired. Slept two or three hours. So, see you in Cyprus. All I go get the money. So, I go get it. Get it. Hate means I do something right. So, I’mma let them. I let them. Yeah. I’mma let him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I’mma let him. I let them. I hit the nail on the head. Yeah. Yeah. I’mma let him. Uh-huh. All I hear go get the money. So I go get it. Hate means I do something right. So after I arrived at the hotel, uh I was super hungry. So I very quickly inhaled um a spicy pepperoni pizza that was actually quite delicious at the hotel restaurant, which actually turned out to be quite a gem for the whole stay when it comes to tasty food. And um yeah, after that pizza, 30 minutes later, Alex and I have already been out on the road hitting that first climb. And it has been quite a challenging climb and uh I thought that it was because of my low energy level because of the lack of sleep. But it turned out that it was actually the biggest climb that I’ve ever done thanks to Straa. Um even though I’ve done things like Sakalobra before, but this climb was actually one biggie in one go rather than climbs kind of like staggered one after the other. So, um, yeah, I was quite happy to see that after the ride and yeah, that gave me at least a little bit of an ego boost. And I think the biggest difference here was really that during that time of the day, I think I counted like five cars in one scooter. And in comparison to riding a similar route or a similar climb in places like Mayorca, you would really have to deal with a lot of rental cars and especially shuttle buses on those narrow streets which are kind of take they take a little bit out of the fun when you’re climbing up and especially when you’re descending. So yeah, that lag of cars really leveled up the experience of that first day quite a bit. Nice one. Well done. Thanks for taking me out. Of course. Of course. Okay. Good machine. [Music] [Music] So on the second day, another rider arrived, Andreas, who is a good friend of Alex from back in the day. So we had a nice sweet three rider group going on. And yeah, what can I say? It’s been another beautiful day out with uh even a little bit more climbing and uh quite some more epic views. And by the way, this trip was actually the first time that I didn’t take my own bike out um on a cycling trip, but where I kind of relied on a rental bike from the hotel. And I have to say, I actually didn’t regret it because the hotel fleet has a solid and well-maintained um yeah, fleet of factory bikes. So, um for me, it was actually the first time to properly ride one of those factory bikes, and I felt home uh right away on that O2. But I mean, look at Alex Austro. what an absolute speed machine. Like some people even say that um this was the main or maybe even the only reason why he was so much faster than me on the road. But yeah, I think that might be the hottest looking carbon road bike out on the market at least at the moment. [Music] Anyways, so this ride was really pushing me to the limit. I have to say I was swearing to myself in silent so much towards the last 5 km up um quite an intense climb at least towards the end of a ride on the way to the hotel. So it was kind of unavoidable having to go up there. Suffer fast. All right. So last 3 km to go. Last 3 km of climbing. I’m dying here. I’m like energy saver. 0.5%. I think I never suffered so much on the bike. But I love it. I think I never had so much fun like today. So, it’s a great combo. And of course, these guys are machines. Yeah. Come to come to Cypress. Super dope. Okay, I need to stop talking. But I have to say that um even though I’ve seen that Alex was riding at I guess I don’t know 30% of his power, he’s really been an amazing ride leader. And um I never felt like I’m the weak link uh within the group even though I kind of knew it. Um but I think yeah that was kind of the main ingredient for me to even finish those rides in the first place. Okay. And maybe also knowing that there is a tasty steak sandwich waiting for me at the hotel once we’re back. Nice one. Well done. Well done. All right. Right. So, third day in Cypress. It is a bit colder today. Overcast. Quite windy. I think winds up to 27 km an hour. So, let’s see. We’re supposed to go down a coastal route. So, let’s find out. I guess Alex is going to be hopefully pulling us through that wind. I think enough talking. Let me show you the overcast. So, now let’s go. Thank you. If I leave you, then I got to go. So, there isn’t too much footage of the super windy part where Alex was pulling us in the front as I didn’t really dare to get my hands off the handlebars to get the camera out because it was quite sketchy at times with um yeah, quite some high bursts of wind hitting us also sometimes from the side. But once uh we got a little bit of shielding from the mountains, I of course got the drone out to record some epic footage in this beautiful surrounding on that last day in Cyprus. So I hope that you can enjoy this footage almost as much as I enjoyed riding in this beautiful spot. [Music] Yeah. [Applause] All for the content then. All for the content. [Music] Oh my god. I’m just playing with them now. Yeah. Oh my god. What you saying? Say it loud. Yeah. I can’t respect it. I’m in a gym, but I am not flexing. Came from a Ford. I’m needing Alexis. Shooting like Luca. I told him I’m next. Oh my god. But I’m just playing with them now. Yeah. Oh my god. What you saying? Say it loud. Yeah, man. So, I mean, look at that road service here. It’s like freshly laid again today. Suffer fest. How you feeling today? I’m suffering since like the first minute pretty much today. Okay. I’m loving it, man. That’s the best best time out on the bike. I have to say you coming back. And as soon as possible, my heard it here. I told them like a million times waiting for me, but they know I arrive. What I’m doing to y’all? It should be a crime. I told them, “Oh my god, I’m just playing with them now.” Yeah. Oh my god. What you saying? Say it loud. Yeah. I can’t respect it. I’m in a gym, but I am not flexing. Came from afford. I’m needing Alex to shoot it like L. I told him I’m next. Oh my god. I’m just playing with them now. Yeah. Oh my god. What you saying? Said loud. Yeah. I can’t respect it. I’m in a gym but I am not flexing. Came from afford. I’m needing a leg. Shooting like Luka. I told him I’m next shooting like Luca. Said that I can’t but I told him I do it up in the morning. I swear it’s brewing. Hitting these goals like I play for the Bruins. Thought that I told them I came but was mine. They throwing shade, but I’m still going to shine. They turn my wrist and they know it’s my time. They ain’t see the numbers. I swear that they blind, but that’s how it goes. They know when I’m chose. Need me the flowers. Not talking no rose whipping the Chevy. I need me the ghost. I need the money for me and my bros. Ice in my veins. I swear it’s froze. They know when it’s heat. It’s like right out the stove. Way that I’m shooting. They think I’m a pro. I told them so much that they really should know that’s real. So now I would say it’s time to summarize this trip. So, what can I say? I mean, I already made a bunch of videos about how Mayora is the best place to be for cyclists, but um yeah, after being here, it turns out this has all been a lie. But here, you actually also get the scenic views, those epic and endless clims, mostly on what feels like freshly laid tarmac. But the biggest selling point for me was actually the amount of traffic or the lack of traffic here. And now it’s early May here. So I would say it is already the season. And while in Mayorca you either have to get out really really early um to enjoy your ride out on the road bike or you actually have to deal with a bunch of tourist buses or actual regular traffic up a climb or when descending um something like Sakalobra. here you don’t really have that issue because on the first day out I think we’ve been out for 3 and 1/2 hours I’ve seen five cars in total one scooter and on our longest day out I think yesterday or maybe not the longest ride but a ride which included riding on main streets as well I think I counted 30 cars in total over 3 and 1/2 hour ride time and the other upside is also that the drivers here with their cars seem to be very patient everybody’s taking over with a bunch of distance to you. Nobody’s aggressive. Um, nobody’s speeding like crazy when taking over. So, you actually feel quite safe as a cyclist on those roads, which I love. So, if you’re planning your next cycling adventure, I’d say consider Cypress. I mean, you don’t necessarily have to stay at the agora, which of course is beautiful cuz I mean, after a long day out in the saddle, it is great knowing that you’re coming back to a nice pool and a tasty steak sandwich, but in the end, you can actually stay wherever you want. And which is a nice thing which I learned from the conversation with Alex is that he also, this isn’t supposed to be an advertisement for his hotel. This is supposed to be an advertisement for the island and building a cycling culture around this place because it really has massive potential. And I’m trying to be back in October. So, I’m going to try to get a little group together of uh my friends and introduce them to those beautiful, calm, chilly, but quite steep roads out here. So, I just want to say massive thank you again to you, Alex, for this invite, for bringing me out to this beautiful island and showing me a completely different perspective when it comes to road cycling here. Cuz I mean, I have been to Cyprus to DJ uh a couple of times, but I never connected this island with cycling. And it turns out music culture is great here. But the roads for cycling are even better. So, again, thanks a lot. And um yeah, I think this is going to be it for this little episode. In case you enjoy it, which I hope because you’ve been watching until now, consider dropping a like and a comment maybe. And um yeah, as always, I say thanks a lot for watching and I hope to see you in the next one. Bye.

Hey man, thanks for this gerat insight!
Beautiful place ❤️
Amazing. ❤
Exactly the kind of trip I would love to do !! Lucky you !
you look lgbt friendly
This looks absolutely amazing! Looking at the website, I'm curious, what does it mean "experienced" cyclist? What kind of pace are the guys blasting? Do you even have any chance of riding along if you're 88kg and NOT having 400w ftp? 😀
Oh, I'll check that place out next year. I am going back to Turkey and traveling to Cyprus. I'll go to that hotel and ride. Thanks.
Though the wind might have been sketchy, that pavement is mint!!!
Spectacular vibes & nature with smooth roads no traffic or fucking tourists 😉 Loved the travelog chill mood thanks
Alex is great and he is is right, its all about promoting Cyprus, come check out the Paphos side of the Island as well for coastal accommodation and great rides on quiet roads.. Cyprus is the hidden cycling gem!!
Nice review. I was in Rhodes as our first trip after Covid & I found it similar . Nice roads & little traffic once off the main links . The hotel is a little rich for my blood 😂 but I’ll certainly be taking a closer look at the island as a destination option 👍
This looks so awesome Michael. What an awesome experience! And those drone shots – 🔥🔥🔥
Lovely video and awesome shots. Would you mind sharing the komoot routes for your bike rides in Cyprus?
really good looks… did you get the hotel sponsored?
I guess it’s called CYprus for a reason. 🚴
I think the Greek Islands are underrated for cycling. I want to see if I can't fit a trip in to Rhodes later this year.
Amazing hotel. Lefkara is such a nice little town!
Don’t sleep on Alicante! Spent 2 years cycling there, mostly gravel, but also a lot of road and it’s amazing. Same deal with car counts. Very few cars.
Great video, choice music!
