Loistava paikka aloittaa maastopyöräily: Oittaa MTB!

Tervetuloa tutustumaan Espoon Oittaan helppokulkuiseen MTB-trailiin! Tässä jaksossa tutkin, miten hyvin tämä reitti sopii aloittelijoille ja miksi se on täydellinen paikka tuoda vaikkapa ikääntyneet perheenjäsenet kokeilemaan maastopyöräilyä.

Oittaan MTB-trail tarjoaa:
– Noin 1,7 km pituinen rakennettu maastopyöräreitti
– Loivia nousuja ja teknisesti helppoja osuuksia
– Hyvin merkitty reitti (vaikkakin merkinnät kaipaavat paikoin uusimista)
– Mahtavat maisemat ja mukavia siltoja ja bermejä
– Helppo saavutettavuus – parkki ja uimapaikka lähellä

Löysin myös yllätyksenä toisen, mahdollisesti juuri rakenteilla olevan reitin lisäosuuden!

Alright, the sun is shining. Today we came to Oittaa. Here is Oittaa MTB trail, a purpose-built mountain bike route. There aren’t many technical features available. I came to scout it mainly with the idea that I could bring my retired dad here to mountain bike. What makes me most nervous is that over there it’s beautiful and sunny, and over there it’s dark with storm clouds, which have been dropping hail today. So let’s see what we’ll encounter while we’re riding around Oittaa. Yes! So I left the car over there. There’s the Oittaa swimming area, and so that you guys don’t have to wander around lost, let me show you the direct route. Personally, I first turned there and then there, and finally here where I should have gone. And then I was really expecting to see some kind of Oittaa MTB trail, uh, sign up there in the treetops, but I couldn’t find one, so it starts from here. Well okay. Those red spray-painted arrows we’ll try to follow them. I think I’ve been here a whole bunch of years ago, but back then this wasn’t as long as it is now. I’d say. Nice bedrock and well-placed small bridges. Then this kind of optional feature. Nice looking crossing was there. Usually I’m not the biggest fan of these crushed stone surfaced trails, but here they’ve left just the right amount of rock and root exposed.Maintenance should come spray again. Some of, some of those trail markers on the rocks are completely worn away. In those spots where where we cross paths with those disc golfers, they could use some clearer signage. Hopefully it’s not too dark, because then the GoPro loses color quality… stabilization off, off so the footage becomes awful. They’ve done a good job utilizing a fairly small area. Oops. Bailed into water on a wrong turn. Well yeah, that was the Oittaa MTB route. One point seven kilometers says my watch, but completely by chance while searching for this place I found one more additional trail. Let’s go check it out too. I don’t know if they’re planning to extend, extend this route or what’s the deal, but. From here when we climbed to the top of the hill and continued over there last time from here you can also continue over here. And here there are hidden berms. And who doesn’t love berms? Looks like fresh dirt still. It’s possible they’ve been building a bit more recently. That’s it folks. That was Oittaa MTB. Nothing extreme or scary.
