Metal detecting in Latvia. We visited an area known as ‘ The Courland pocket’. During WW2 over 200.000 German soldiers were entrenched here for almost a year. Surrounded and constantly being attacked by Soviet Forces, these men fought and lived under harsh conditions. We were invited to Latvia by Alex who manages YouTube channel @ALHISTORYTEAM1 Please go give him a follow!
We had a good time and found many awesome WWII relics. We didn’t find Hitler’s gold this time but who knows, maybe next time. It has to be somewhere.

FAQ:
-Do you report things found to the authorities?
Yes, all nasty things found like UXO’s and finds that could be important from an archaeology perspective are reported to the local authorities.
-Do you sell finds?
I am a collector myself so I hardly sell relics. But if I do then I’ll post it on the social media pages or check out my Patron’s website. I share finds with my Patrons (check the Patreon website for more details).
-How do you gain permission for metal detecting?
Check out local laws regarding metal detecting and get permission from the landowner. Or hook up with a local metal detecting club in the area you would like to detect and get your information from them. (I stopped responding to questions like this all together, I’m Iron Mike not Google Mike..)
-Can I come with you?
No.
-Do you love me?
Yes I do!
-Will you marry me?
No, lets just be friends.
-I want to see more!
Go check out the social media pages, or consider becoming a Patron! Patrons have access to much more, special videos, behind the scenes footage and WW2 goodie boxes containing relics me and my friends found over the years.
-What metal detector do you use?
The Garrett Ace Apex or the Garrett AT Max.
-Camera?
Go Pro 7, Go Pro 10 and a Sony handy cam
-Favorite find?
Deep Digger Dan’s YouTube channel.
-What is on your bucket list?
Hitler’s lost gold or the missing Nazi gold train everybody is searching for. But until then I am happy with whatever pops up, I even enjoy finding landmines… :-s

Nice work, Alex my boy 🐅
Наверное ещё 100 лет понадобится, чтобы поднять всë что лежит на полях боя той страшной войны…
Was ist das für ein Scheiss mit der Übersetzung/ Ki Stimme?👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Looks like an Engine flywheel with the ring gear for the starter. 13 min in.
so many great finds mike 👍
Diese KI Stimme is einfach nur furchtbar und echt nervig!
Great video, thank you mike
My grandfather was stationed in Courland until the end of the war. He was also taken prisoner of war there. I only know the area from his stories and his experiences during that time. Nice finds….Thx for the video.
Such a cool hobby to have. Of course in the US I get to play with most of the weapons from the war. Even own them. But nothing beats metal detecting.. The last people to touch some of these things were 80+ years ago. Amazing
The crosses on the graves look a lot like those found in WWI graveyards. I wonder how many folks know about that place? Mostly wondering about families.
Zdravím 😃 dobrá práce 👍👍👍

Since you yanked the firearm out, did you check for the wood stock?
Love watching your videos.
If we survive as a species in the next 70 to 80 years, will your grandchildren be practicing your hobby in Ukraine?
Awesome 👌. Thank you
That is a starter flywheel from an engine…ON ANOTHER VIDEO YOU'RE BOTHERED BY MOSQUITOS… 2 TEASPOON OF VANILLA EXTRACT TO ONE CUP OF WATER, MIX AND SPRAY YOURSELF
