After 2 day trips to Lille in 2022, I made the decision to invest in a studio apartment there and now spend 90 days at a time, with a trip to Paris every weekend. I often get my tickets for much less than 120 euros round trip; I’ve gone for as little as 32 round trip.
Sorry , but bordeaux , strasbourg , lyon is difficult in 1 day. Possible in summer but not in winter
Perfect ❤
Is it wise to do the hop- on hop- off bus tour? We are a group of 30 adults and children
Just got back from Auvers sur oise and was so IMPRESSED with how much help I received from not only the workers at the stations (esp. Monceau and Denfert) in getting the ticket $10 round trip! Especially appreciated the SNCF who helped me with going back to Paris, as well as running off the sketchy guys hanging out at the train station at Auvers. Wish there had been someone inside, but this guy was so sweet! Whoever said the French are rude or cold didn’t see what I did today. I was so grateful to all the lovely French folks who helped me have a wonderful day! Would have been much more difficult without these godsends!
Fontainebleau ("eau") is 40 mins on RER R from gare de Lyon. take Bus1 to get to centre ville or the chateau. Skip thr costly tour bus and visit the town. we have excellent award winning restaurants and boutiques and a nice market. by car you can visit nearby Barbizon village if painters.
We chose Strasbourg and loved it. Easy and so much fun!
One hidden highlight for Rouen that I NEVER hear mentioned is the restaurant La Couronne near the Church of St Joan of Arc. I went there for lunch when I found the church to be closed. I didn't think it was anything special, but it look old and had french cuisine, which is what I wanted. Anyway, I found that it is the restaurant that inspired Julia Child. It is even older than Le Procope in Paris. You mentioned Monet and the Cathedrale, but what was interesting is when I saw the window he sat in when he made the painting. The building is still there. Rouen snuck up on me in a way no other place has in the world has.
Please help..what train should I take to Strasbourg? I am arriving in Paris this coming Feb, and would like to do a day trip to Strasbourg (it is worth it, since it’s after Xmas?) Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you
My wife and I are planning a trip to Paris and Normandy. We are going to use what we have learned from watching all your videos to help us get around. We are doing a day at Versailles, a day in Paris to include the dinner tour or maybe just the Siene cruise, and a day at Belleau Wood. Was hoping for a day tour to there but unless you do one by May, we can figure it out. That is where my grandfather fought in WWI. My uncle was in Normandy so that is the next stop and we watched your trip there with interest. Merci Beaucoup
trip to saint michel is much cheaper if you do it yourself
Considering a flight from Paris to London round trip is 65 Euros, I would rather take a quick flight, get there and have most of that $300 left over for food and shopping.
When will you finally visit Bretagne? 😊
I just discovered your videos. Absolutely enjoy them. We are starting our plans for a trip this Fall or next Spring. We are wanting to see the French Riviera, Paris and the Normandy area. My question: how hard is it to get a rental car for the Normandy area and is there anything we need as tourists to rent a car. Thanks in advance!
Great ideas and I thank you. You two are a treasure.
Don’t forget to check airfare. London and Brussels were cheaper to fly than take train roundtrip.
Excellent Video very helpful , very creative thanks. All your videos are so good.❤❤❤
Hi Antoine and Colleen!!! Great suggestions, my wife and I are planning our much-belated 25th anniversary trip to Europe this year by focusing on a trip to Paris in mid-May this year! We've decided to wrap up the trip with an overnight stay in Strasbourg. We both LOVE Riesling and Gewurtztraminer wine, and we hope to find a suitable wine experience while we're in the area. I'm brushing up my French well in advance, and we're already planning our Paris shopping as well. I'm REALLY hoping I get to make a purchase of a "perfect ping" S.T. Dupont lighter at their Rue St. Honore Boutique!
quick question, does the Navigo weekly pass include the RER to Versailles?
Everything you guys do is so expensive
You always recommend these guided tours with your $500-$1000 let me be serious are you kidding me like who could afford that you guys are dreaming
Your accent is atrocious. Start with Rosetta Stone and don’t do anything in France until you develop the nuances of the country.
can you please tell me what are good months to visit these places? is it spring? summer? please can you advice
What an amazing video! I live near Paris and I need to take a breather out of the city in the spring. Will definitely check out le Mont Saint Michel, Fontainebleau, Giverny, Reims, Bordeaux!
