I go on a wine tour around Hermanus, in the Western Cape, in South Africa.
I go up the Hemel en Aarde valley, a valley famous for its wine, tasting wine and food in different places.
First, I stop at Bouchard Finlayson, a place where I taste 3 different wines while having some biltong. Then I go to Creation where I have one one the most amazing meals in my life. The wine is fantastic and the food is even better. The main dish, some lamb, is just out of this world. This is really the main part of the video.
After this extraordinary meal, I want to go to La Vierge or Newton Johnson, but the driver of my tour tricks me into going to Spookfontein. In the video, I remained polite and said that everything was good, but the wine was actually much less good than at the 2 other places.
After this disappointing ending, I go back to my room, drunk, and I sleep.

  1. Watching Yves get progressively more plonked gives makes me happy, it’s so funny! And watching his simple and innocent pleasure in the good things in life, in our beautiful western cape, is wonderful – seeing my country through his eyes makes me love it even more (if that’s possible). Sure, we have problems in SA (nowhere is absolutely perfect), but truly, it’s the most beautiful country on earth, imo πŸ™πŸŒΊβ€οΈ

  2. That was the best ending to one of your videos ever!
So nice to see you having fun in our valley… Can’t wait to see where you go next in the area…

  3. I so enjoy watching these videos and how you enjoy all the experiences in our country. After a few glasses of great wine who cares how its blended just keep running the tap lol

  4. Ha ha this was a briallent episode basically watching Yves eat and drink. 'Its the best thing I've ever eaten' had me chuckling. The wine was speaking a tiny little bit

  5. If you’re in Gordons Bay please come for lunch at Ocean Basket for a meal on us! Would love to have you visit our store for some seafood! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

  6. It's been a while since he was "completely dead". It's good that he's still "happy". I hope they have some pain killers. Being "so drunk" may have some side effects…πŸ˜‚ A delightful video once again. Almost 300k subscribers. Well deserved.

  7. This is a great advertisement for our beautiful wine region. Thank you Kino Yves. Keep praising us! We also make better Pinot Noir than the French do, right?

  8. South Africa is the greatest country in the world, that is why Trump wants all the Afrikaners, because he is hoping to reduce us to rubble… In his dreams. If you noticed, all the service staff are Black and Coloured people. Their knowledge is crazy.

  9. 1. I wonder if Yves can find himself a nice South African partner and move here forever…. And 2. Related to this, we got a glimpse at the end of the solitude and the loneliness of the adventurer

  10. YK, in one of your last legs to Cape Town, you mentioned that there was a day you were so ill you couldn't walk far and now you have achieved this cycle to the tip of Africa, this is amazing. I wish you could talk more, and tell the story about the challenging situation you reffered above. What you suffered from and how you beat the odds and convinced yourself that you can undertake such a Challenge. It would be inspirational. I have seen a couple that have walked Cape to Cairo on foot but apart from that, this is a major achievement. I would ike to hear your story, or share the link please.

  12. Wine tasting is so vain that Yve for the first time did not tell his fans how much he paid. Expensive splurging πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

  13. Wow I miss wine trip days in the western Cape. Moved overseas in 2017 and I struggle to find good food and wine at an affordable rate. Even when we go to a β€œfine dining” restaurant we are seldomly blown away by the experience. Cape Town and the wine lands is truly a Mecca for foodies.

  14. I am from Maryland DC, and traveled to South Africa in 2022 for a memorial of an ex colleague's husband. She was very ill and doctors told her in 2012 that she won't see another summer. Her husband wanted to see Africa but she fell in love with the continent and decided to move there.
She lives just outside the city of Port Elizabeth,on the Eastern side of South Africa on a beautiful farm.

  15. Blah blah blah…pretentious bullshitπŸ˜‚ I also don't listen either if I'm not interested.
Sit me down at table with french people…amazing food, warm company and great wine, cheese, bread. Heaven

  16. I just spent 49 minutes watching a guy eat and drink and enjoying himself.
I discovered your channel by chance and enjoy every video. Especially when you enjoy your food!!
    Safe travels!!
