Should i swap used Alivio/Acero for used Deore drivetrain on my used Cannondale Bad Boy?

I recently got myself a beautiful Cannondale Bad Boy from 2014-ish. The bike is awesome but it wasn’t maintained well by the previous owner. I cleaned everything and lubricated but the gears shifting is not smooth. I have my other bike i have been riding for the past 10 years that has Shimano Deore LX groupset.

Would it be an upgrade to swap the Bad Boy Alivio/Acero drivetrain with my used Deore one?

Or should I just set up my gear shifting properly with indexing and maybe change the chain?

Bike will be mainly used for day-to day 10k commute and I am thinking on adding a Bafang motor down the line
