I know it isn’t the usual brightly colored restomod that we see here more and more often in this sub, but I wanted to share it anyway as this style of bike is pretty rare nowadays. As a new member to my ever growing bike family I got this Randonneur bike. I didn’t built it myself but I specked out pretty much every part up to the last washer. My absolute brain child. Base is a custom geometry frame lugged and soldered made from Columbus tubes by a master frame builder in 3rd generation. The frame is built like they did 100 years ago and the lugs are even ornamented. It’s perfectly combining classic steel frame design with modern components. It’s running a Shimano Tiagra 3×10 road bike groupset with TRP Spyre brakes (180mm front and 160mm rear with Jagwire compressionless housings), Busch und Müller lights (with brake light), and Tubus racks so I can carry 88lb with me on 4 panniers. I also let the frame be built to fit quite some chunky tires, in my case 2“x27.5 Schwalbe Hurricane DD for minimum rolling resistance on the street and still good performance in light off-road conditions. Yes, this picture got taken in Berlin, I don’t live there tho. My goal was to make it as reliable, field serviceable and long lasting as possible. It’s meant for me to do a bunch of things, from getting groceries to traveling as I live car free. Hope it still finds some appreciation here!
