Went out to Empire BMX for an Odyssey Springfield brake kit, ended up with a new Demolition pivotal seat and Odyssey seat post (300mm) as well.
Pros/cons depending on how you feel: the Springfield kit is somewhat self-adjusting, but so far it stops on a dime compared to the factory brakes. I imagine the spring will wear out eventually. Mine came with the Ghost pads, so they’re relatively small and I have no idea if these lend themselves well to other upgrades. I’ll find out soon enough!
Also, I know brakes are falling out of style as I’m getting back into the community, but ya boi is 200+lbs on a freecoaster hub, and TX Hill Country has some incredibly steep grades throughout every city you feasibly can ride out here haha. Overall though, my favorite part about these new parts is how it brings that B&W color scheme together. I’m loving this bike so much 🤘
