It’s the maiden voyage of my brand new Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 — and what better way to test it than taking it straight to the iconic climbs of the Ribble Valley. I’m chasing personal records on three big local climbs: Nick of Pendle, Whalley nab, and the brutal jeffrey Hill Climb.
In this video, I share my first impressions of the S-Works SL8, talk about how it compares to my previous setup, and take you along for a bit of a ride vlog through some of the best scenery in the North West. If you’re into road cycling, hill climbs, or just want to see how this bike performs under pressure — this one’s for you.
Don’t forget to hit Like, Subscribe, and drop a comment if you’ve ridden any of these climbs or if you’re thinking about upgrading to the SL8!

Great video, I climbed up the Roman road out of Whalley on Sunday after touring round the Ribble Valley and it's tough after a long ride. I enjoy your videos because it's local to Colne. Could you make a video of Colne to Hebden Bridge and back through Haworth? How often do you eat on the bike and what do you eat to keep your energy levels high? I struggle with this. Cheers
Great video mate. We have to get ridding there soon
We'll have to meet up, these are all my local rides! Not done Jeffrey Hill in over a year though.
I was in the Ribble Valley at the weekend too, must go back. Catch you on Sunday mate.
