When British Cycling invites you to HQ you don’t say no!

I had a lovely evening meeting others who love cycling as much as I do and are as passionate about getting people out on bikes. We learned about what British Cycling does and I’m looking forward to working with them getting more people on bikes in 2018.

British Cycling gave us a tour of the facilities and we got the chance to watch the National Track Finals on Friday night seeing some fantastic racing.

The next morning I tried to go on a ride with Brompton Bike Hire, however, after some technical difficulties I had to give up on the hire. I suspect the locker is broken in Manchester as it doesn’t currently even show up on the website. There is a Brompton Bike Hire in Hammersmith near to where I live so I will get the chance to cycle on a Brompton ASAP!

  1. Had a great time in Manchester. The Brompton ride didn't go to plan but there's a locker in London near where I live so stay tuned for attempt number 2!

  2. Awesome invitation! I just read the Thomas, Wiggins and Cavendish books which talked about Manchester. British Cycling went from there to Olympic gold metals and world championships. Very cool to hear Katie Archibald's name called over the speakers.

  3. Nice video. I like the adventure side catching a train, having a walk. Very nice. And the building is huge inside. Those bikes go very fast. I've been told they can do up to 50MPH (is that correct?)

  4. I know this is a year too late but Brompton provided bikes for the Unseen City Ride here in MCR out of the Rapha Clubhouse in 2017. I don't think it was that successful since it didn't run this year but I hope it's scheduled again soon because I found it very interesting.

Could have killed two birds with one stone ;-)!
