A Sunday social ride with the groovy gravel gang at G!RO.

It was a great route that provided lots of new trails for me to ride including three of the Lovelace bridges built by William King, 1st Earl of Lovelace (1805-1893) on his estate at East Horsley, Surrey, in the 1860s. The bridges were built to facilitate the transport of timber by horse-drawn carts.

The riders in the group were very friendly and supportive and we all got around safely.

Despite being badged as a social ride and me being in the medium paced group the pace slowly increased as we rode around the route and I ended up being blown out of the back of the group towards the end. But it was a great ride and I’m already looking forward to next month.
