Yes, these areas are bad. But I still think that they are better to live in than the worst hoods of the United States.

It's absolutely insane how our post-WW2 governments have allowed this decline for all the money we pay out. It costs little to build well and then maintain it, keeping people safe and educated on cleanliness. There used to be public service announcements about keeping the place clean, Countryside Code, how to look after yourself and your area. All gone in favour of saddo insurance adverts. The UK is generally beautiful but managed decline is certainly a thing and we all need to take responsibility, from govts to the people.
Most of these places just want bulldozing and starting again. I also appreciate that importing tons of people with poor integration is often at the very heart of several issues.

95% of Newporrt is a S*** hole. Would not live there if it was the last place in earth
Newport has been designated by the council as a 'city of sanctuary' without any approval from its residents.
That contributes to a lot of the trouble.
Also the city is blighted by chavs on illegal bikes running drugs around, even the nice areas.
My home town! I don't miss Newport.
So you've shown areas that are currently being demolished under regeneration schemes, building sites and estates with the wrong names . What a poorly produced video .
Bettws? A small estate? It’s one of the largest housing estates in the UK
Completely wrong – footage was not of Lliswerry, it was of Alway and Moorland Park – completely separate areas which border on Lliswerry, but do not form part of it. Lliswerry is mostly comprised of post war semi detached houses. Footage of Phil included Friars Fields (part of the Royal Gwent Hospital site) which are nothing to do with the area.
I have lived in ringland for 50 years, beatty Road , and brought my children up there too, ages 31, 29, 25 and 17 and they are welled behaved with good careers, I blame the parents,
I grew up in ringland, aint been there in about 20 years, cant believe what a shit hole it has turned into. It was a rough place in the 80s and 90s but it was clean, people had self respect and pride.

It would really help if you actually researched properly and got your facts right, there's huge regeneration going on which is why the houses had scaffolding, people leave their broken/old appliances out to be collected by the council or scrap man and there's rubble and building waste around because of all the work being done, you misnamed the areas you filmed and Stow Hill is a road leading from the high st, if you'd carried on up you would have found St Wollos which has retained its village feel and beauty while being less than a mile from the high st, any town or city with a large docks has an industrial feel to it and the high street looks the way it does because of the massive King's Way shopping centre and the many retail parks surrounding Newport city centre which is happening all over the UK, there are many beautiful areas of Newport, but you happened to miss those out, along with the rich and diverse history of the city

I'm the victim of crime page 5 of South Wales argus 19 April 2025 iv put in for competition from the police however that could take up to a Yr to get it I hat to throw out my 2 two seater sofa s one was a sofa bed and I hat to throw out my clothes and bedding which was on the clothes hose and my frige frzzer and tv and dvd player to however my friend has loaned me a fridge freezer and tv and dvd player til I get compensation from the police however I love my home however I would like to no why is it going to take so long for me to be compensation I is the victim in this and because of what happened I'm more nevis now
